  • Patent number: 10017035
Abstract: A method for controlling a multi-axle work vehicle based on axle loading may generally include monitoring a load associated with loads transmitted through a pivot pin of a track assembly of the work vehicle, wherein the track assembly is configured to be rotatably coupled to an engine of the work vehicle via an axle assembly. In addition, the method may include estimating an axle load applied through the axle assembly based on the monitored load and providing a control output for the work vehicle based on the estimated axle load.

Date of Patent: July 10, 2018
    Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLC
Inventors: Brian Vik, Jason Novacek, Mark Krogen, David Tveito, Russell Stoltman
  • Patent number: 9855843
Abstract: A method for automatically controlling vehicle speeds of a track-based work vehicle may include monitoring, with a computing device, a load transmitted through a pivot pin of a track assembly of the work vehicle and determining, with the computing device, a speed limit setting for the work vehicle based on the monitored load, wherein the speed limit setting is associated with maintaining an operating temperature of a track of the track assembly below a predetermined temperature threshold. In addition, the method may include automatically limiting, with the computing device, a vehicle speed of the work vehicle based on the determined speed limit setting.

  • Patent number: 9283965
Abstract: A method for enhancing the performance of a work vehicle may generally include storing a reference transmission torque and a reference transmission speed for a transmission of the work vehicle. At least one of the reference transmission torque or the reference transmission speed may be determined based at least in part on drivetrain life data associated with at least one drivetrain component of the work vehicle. In addition, the method may include determining a current transmission speed for the transmission, determining a transmission output torque limit for the transmission based on the current transmission speed, the reference transmission torque and the reference transmission speed and controlling an engine of the work vehicle such that a transmission output torque of the transmission does not exceed the transmission output torque limit while the transmission is being operated at the current transmission speed.
