  • Publication number: 20120278616
Abstract: A method is provided for securely decrypting files that are wirelessly sent to a mobile device. A mobile device typically has a wireless interface, such as a cellular telephone or WiFi interface that can be used to accept an encrypted file from a first remote device. A decryption key representation is accepted from a second remote device via a personal proximity interface which can be a camera, microphone, or near-field radio frequency (RF) detector. In one aspect, the first device can, for example, be a multi-functional peripheral (MFP), a network server, or a computer. In another aspect, the first and second devices can be the same device, such as an MFP or a computer. A mobile device conversional application converts the decryption key representation to a digital decryption key, and the digital decryption key is then used to decrypt the encrypted file.

  • Patent number: 7337432
Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating automatic test plans for GUI applications. The method comprises: launching a GUI application under test (AUT); discovering access paths to user interface (UI) elements in the AUT; generating logical access paths to the discovered UI elements; launching a test plan that uses the generated access paths; and, sending test messages to UI elements in the AUT. The method may identify UI element types such as a menu, sub-menu, check box, text box, or variable UI elements. Then, sending test messages to UI elements in the AUT includes sending corresponding test messages such as menu select, sub-menu select, check box select, text box fill, or variable fill command messages. For example, if a variable UI element is identified, sending test messages to UI elements in the AUT includes: sending a command to populate the variable UI elements; and, selecting the populated value.

  • Patent number: 7154622
Abstract: A method and apparatus for flexible control of the routing and processing of documents by a document receiver. Document classifications are defined by a receiver and stored on a registration server together with an associated document processing profile (“DPP”). The receiver communicates to a sender how to access his account on the registration server. The sender views the receiver's document classifications, selects one, and prints a cover page, which includes a document classification identifier. The sender scans the cover page and a source document with a digital scanner and transceiver. The document is sent to recipients and transformed according to the DPP.

  • Patent number: 6924904
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and systems for manipulating and combining files from different applications without the use of the files' originating applications. Application files are collected and converted to a page-format which preserves the visual aspects and page formatting of the application file. A composer application is then used to manipulate and reorganize the pages of the files as needed. Pages from files created by different applications may be compiled into a single document which can be printed or electronically transmitted without manual editing or delivery.

  • Publication number: 20030226114
Abstract: A system and method are provided for composing documents. The method comprises: accepting an electronically formatted document; converting the document into a metafile format description; and, arranging the converted documents in a Composer file. In some aspects, converting the documents into a metafile format description includes converting the documents into printer commands. The method may: create a call for a graphical device interface (GDI) function; and, supply GDI function parameters. In other aspects, arranging the converted documents in a Composer file includes arranging the GDI function calls and parameters in a Windows enhanced metafile (EMF) document. In one aspect, a Composer file is created with images differentiated by logical pages. Then, the method further comprises: modifying the edge margins of the composer file pages, for example, the footers and headers. Modifying the edge margins includes: either creating a page overlay; and/or, resizing a page.
