Abstract: A camera senses the speed with which the photographer actuates the shutter release. This speed is interpreted as a measure of the urgency of the photograph. The camera modifies its operation in accordance with the urgency measure to give appropriate priority to taking the photograph quickly.

Abstract: A video sequence is shown simultaneously in multiple time-offset windows, each of which has an associated audio channel. The audio channel associated with at least one of the windows may be selected and played. Applications involving both delayed and time-advanced time offsets among the windows are supported.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for event triggering an electronic device utilize an AC adaptor port as a trigger source interface port. The apparatus for triggering the device comprises an AC adaptor port, a mode control element, and an event monitor. While in a trigger mode, the AC adaptor port is the trigger source interface port and, while not in trigger mode, the AC adaptor port is a power source port. The method of triggering comprises the steps of setting a mode of operation, wherein trigger mode is either enabled or disabled, and while trigger mode is enabled, monitoring a parameter of a signal applied to the AC adaptor port, comparing the parameter to a threshold to determine if a trigger event has occurred, and if so, triggering the device to perform an action.

Abstract: A digital camera generates multiple exposures. In one embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of digital images are captured, and the digital images are combined to generate a multiple exposure. Optional techniques for image capture, weighting, and combining are also described.

Abstract: A digital camera stores and compares colors. In one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a color may be captured by and stored in the digital camera and subsequently uploaded to a computing device for use in applications. In another exemplary embodiment, a color associated with a candidate specimen is compared with a reference color stored in the digital camera, the difference between the colors is reported graphically, and a signal is given when the colors differ by less than a predetermined tolerance. Illuminant normalization is employed to ensure accurate color comparisons.
