Patent number: 11030414Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for representing words or phrases, and using the representation to perform NLP and NLU tasks, where these tasks include sentiment analysis, question answering, and conference resolution. Embodiments introduce a type of deep contextualized word representation that models both complex characteristics of word use, and how these uses vary across linguistic contexts. The word vectors are learned functions of the internal states of a deep bidirectional language model (biLM), which is pre-trained on a large text corpus. These representations can be added to existing task models and significantly improve the state of the art across challenging NLP problems, including question answering, textual entailment and sentiment analysis.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2018Date of Patent: June 8, 2021Assignee: The Allen Institute for Artificial IntelligenceInventors: Matthew E. Peters, Mark Neumann, Mohit Iyyer, Matt Gardner, Christopher Clark, Kenton Lee, Luke Zettlemoyer

Publication number: 20210076902Abstract: Disclosed is a lint roller having a handle by which the lint roller may be gripped and held and with an elongate spindle for carrying an encircling replaceable lint catching roll, wherein the handle grip is an elongate canister/tubular housing that the spindle and lint-catching roll may be slidingly inserted into and housed within when the lint roller is not in use; and the lint roller further has a bi-directional coupling body, the coupling body having a coupling device configured whereby the handle may be attached in one orientation to act as a handle or de-mounted and attached in an opposing orientation to act as the housing for the lint-catching roll. The coupling device preferably includes a unitary screw thread around the circumference of the coupling body at an intermediate zone along its length whereby the handle may reach it and couple with it from either end of the coupling body.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2018Publication date: March 18, 2021Inventor: Daniel Mark NEUMANN

Patent number: 10398916Abstract: A fire suppression and annunciation system using a flexible conduit and a wire rope is provided. The wire rope may be connected to a knob assembly at a universal pull station and to a release mechanism of the fire suppression system. An operator may pull a handle of the knob assembly at the universal pull station, thereby activating the release mechanism to release fire suppression agent. A flexible conduit may house the wire rope along at least a part of the connection from the universal pull station to the release mechanism. A material on the liner of the flexible conduit and/or on the wire rope may be used to reduce the coefficient of friction of wire rope in the flexible conduit. The fire suppression system may further include a pulley block system connected to the universal pull station. The pulley block system may comprise bearings, and may lower the force necessary to activate the release mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2016Date of Patent: September 3, 2019Assignee: Tyco Fire Products LPInventors: Michael Walter Erva, Thomas Michael Halt, Jr., Donald Marvin Bjorkman, Brian Floyd Chernetski, Dorothy Ruohonen, Steven John Benda, Mark Neumann
