  • Publication number: 20210310808
Abstract: A method of displaying compass headings includes the steps of: assigning specific colors to at least the four primary directional points North, East, South and West of a compass; and emitting the assigned colors from a single light source (e.g., a tri-colored LED) to visually indicate a current compass heading or orientation of a person, object, vehicle or craft (e.g., boat, airplane, helicopter or drone). The method may further include use of coded flashes of one or more colors to indicate compass points while minimizing the number of assigned colors for ease of memorization.

  • Patent number: 9971659
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for programming non-volatile storage. Methods involve identifying boot loader code stored in a first partition of a non-volatile storage, the boot loader code being marked as active, executing the boot loader code using one or more processors of the computing system, loading a firmware image to a second partition of the non-volatile storage, the second partition being separate from the first partition, and marking the firmware image as active. Methods further involve detecting a power loss event and, following a power cycle, determining that the firmware image is stored in the second partition and has been marked as active, and, in response to said determination, making a copy of the firmware image and storing the copy in the first partition.

  • Patent number: 9772650
Abstract: A device may comprise data storage, a power manager and a bridge device that is coupled to the data storage and to the power manager, and configured to bridge between at least a first data protocol and at least a second data protocol. The bridge device may comprise a UART, a first clock, a second clock and bridge device firmware configured to cause the bridge device to selectively configure the UART for communication using the first clock or the second clock. The power manager may be configured to, when a command is to be issued to the data storage when the bridge device firmware has configured the UART for communication using the first clock, assert a signal that causes the bridge device firmware to stop configuring the UART for communication using the first clock and to configure the UART for communication using the second clock.

  • Publication number: 20140278800
Abstract: A computer system for real-time generation of location establishment severity profile alert based on aggregated quality-data corresponding to a plurality of location establishments is provided herein. A computer system provides for the electronic intake, and aggregate analysis of quality-data for establishment locations. Quality-data is accessed from one or more sources, and corresponds to multiple establishment locations. The system stores quality-data events identifying received quality-data, with a stored representation of a quality-data event's severity level. The system aggregates the stored quality-data events for example by calculating aggregate severity values associated with groups of establishment locations. In some embodiments, quality-data and/or aggregate severity values are normalized according to one or more factors, such as historic geographic data.
