Patent number: 10222506Abstract: A technique generates seismic data that may be analyzed. A combination sensor is operated and deployed in a borehole to obtain orientation data, such as data related to the local magnetic field and a log of the magnetic field direction in the borehole. Following the combination sensor, at least one multi-component seismic source is deployed downhole into the borehole. The at least one multi-component seismic source comprises sensors, such as an inclinometer and a magnetometer. Data from the combination sensor and from the at least one multi-component seismic source is processed to determine an absolute orientation of the at least one multi-component seismic source.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2015Date of Patent: March 5, 2019Assignee: SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventors: Clement Kostov, Martin G. Luling, Mark Puckett

Patent number: 9909412Abstract: A well-logging tool includes a magnetic field logging tool and a borehole seismic array, which includes a plurality of seismic sensor devices coupled together in series. Each seismic sensor device includes a sensor housing and at least one seismic sensor carried by the sensor housing. A magnetometer is carried by the sensor housing to sense the local magnetic field. A controller cooperates with the magnetic field logging tool to generate a log of the local magnetic field relative to the true earth geographic pole. The controller cooperates with the borehole seismic array to determine an orientation of each seismic sensor device based upon the respective sensed local magnetic field and log of the local magnetic field relative to the earth geographic pole.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2013Date of Patent: March 6, 2018Assignee: SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventors: Clement Kostov, Martin G. Luling, Mark Puckett

Patent number: 9414552Abstract: A smart irrigation system for an irrigation controller associated with an irrigation site is described herein. The smart irrigation system comprises a central control system having a user interface and a smart scheduler. The central control system is configured to receive a landscape information associated with the irrigation site. The landscape information is provided by a user via the user interface. The central control system is further configured to receive an environmental information associated with the irrigation site. The central control system is further configured to derive an irrigation schedule for the irrigation site based on the landscape information and the environmental information. The central control system being further configured to send the irrigation schedule. The smart scheduler comprises a data receiver, a processor, and a signal interface. The data receiver is configured to receive the irrigation schedule.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2015Date of Patent: August 16, 2016Assignee: ET WATER SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: Patrick B. Halahan, J. Patent number: 8948921Abstract: A smart irrigation system for an irrigation controller associated with an irrigation site is described herein. The smart irrigation system comprises a central control system having a user interface and a smart scheduler. The central control system is configured to derive and send an irrigation schedule for the irrigation. The smart scheduler comprises a data receiver, a processor, and a signal interface. The data receiver is configured to receive the irrigation schedule. The processor is configured to convert the irrigation schedule to a series of control signals that the irrigation controller recognizes. The signal interface is configured to connect to the irrigation controller and to send the series of control signals to the irrigation controller. The system uses weather data and irrigation site-specific information to automatically apply the optimal irrigation schedule. User are able to remotely control the irrigation via networks such as Internet.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2011Date of Patent: February 3, 2015Assignee: ET Water Systems, Inc.Inventors: Patrick B.
