  • Patent number: 10546657
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products are provided for reducing the risk of sexual assault in a facility. Objective, clinical, and subjective information is obtained about a person housed within the facility. The obtained information is converted into respective groups of variables and weighted coefficients are assigned to selected ones of the variables. The respective groups of variables are processed via an algorithm to derive a risk number for the person. The risk number represents a risk of the person being vulnerable to rape within the facility or a risk of the person being a sexual predator within the facility. One or more other persons within the facility are identified that may be a potential sexual victim of the person and/or that may be a potential sexual abuser of the person based upon the risk number and respective risk numbers of each of the one or more other persons.

  • Patent number: 10363187
Abstract: An apparatus for moving a patient from a reclining position to an upright sitting position, and methods of using same, are described. The apparatus includes an articulating patient support platform with first, second and third panels. The first panel includes opposite first and second ends and the second panel is movably attached to the first panel first end and is upwardly pivotable from a substantially co-planar relationship with the first panel to a substantially orthogonal relationship with the first panel. The third panel is secured to the second panel in spaced-apart, substantially co-planar relationship therewith. A patient is positioned on the patient support platform with the patient's upper body supported by the first and second panels and the patient's legs supported by the third panel. The second panel is caused to pivot upwardly, thereby moving the patient to a generally upright sitting position.

  • Patent number: 8441353
Abstract: A monitoring system includes a plurality of display devices located throughout a facility, and a data server in communication with the display devices. Each subject within the facility has an information tag attached thereto that contains subject identification information. A plurality of information tag readers in communication with the data server are located throughout the facility. Each information tag reader is configured to activate and read subject identification information from an information tag of a subject who comes within a predetermined distance of the reader. If the reader is located near a display device, the data server displays subject information for the identified subject on the display device. Displayed subject information includes identification information for of a subject and one or more coded icons adjacent to the identification information, wherein each coded icon provides information about a respective subject attribute.
