  • Patent number: 8579426
Abstract: The present disclosure provides apparatus and method for maintaining the flowability of solid-ink pellets in a system for delivering the pellets to an image-forming device. The apparatus includes a container storing the solid-ink pellets, and an extraction assembly for extracting the solid-ink pellets. The extraction assembly includes a tubular housing, extending from the bottom portion of the container, and an auger member rotatably placed within the tubular housing. The tubular housing receives the solid-ink pellets from the container and the auger member rotates to break up the obstructions to pellet flow.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 17, 2010
Date of Patent: November 12, 2013
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: Srinivasa R. Deshiikan, Antonio P. Sarmiento, Mark R. James, John Mulley, Michael Brundige

  • Patent number: 6540604
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for directing a flow of air to a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle comprises a housing (12) including at least one passage (24) for conveying the flow of air to the passenger compartment. At least one door (26) has a first position for allowing the flow of air into the passage (24) and a second position for preventing the flow of air into the passage (24). The door (26) includes a seal (32) for sealing against the housing (12) when the door (26) is in the second position. The seal (32) includes a main body portion (106) for attaching to the door (26) and a sealing portion (122) for sealing against the housing (12). The sealing portion (122) of the seal (32) includes primary sealing means (124), which extends outwardly of the main body portion (106) of the seal (32) in a first direction, and secondary sealing means (130), which extends outwardly of the main body portion (106) of the seal (32) in a second direction that is different from the first direction.

  • Patent number: 5506253
Abstract: A compound of the general formula ##STR1## or a salt or complex thereof, in which X, Y and Z are all optionally substituted carbon atoms and R is hydrogen, optionally substituted hydrocarbyl or acyl or --COOR.sup.7 and R.sup.7 is hydrocarbyl has anti-microbial properties. Particular examples are compounds in which X is --CH.sub.2 -- or --C(CH.sub.3).sub.2 -- and Y and Z are both --CH.sub.2 -- or X is is --CH.sub.2 -- and Y and Z are carbon atoms of a benzene ring. The zinc complexes have useful properties.
