  • Patent number: 11958133
Abstract: In one or more embodiments, a method includes selecting a cemented carbide substrate from a plurality of cemented carbide substrates in a substrate inventory. Each of the plurality of cemented carbide substrates have a substantially planar top surface. The method also includes emitting a plurality of laser pulses from a laser towards at least the substantially planar top surface of the cemented carbide substrate to ablate selected regions of the cemented carbide substrate thereby forming the cemented carbide substrate into a selected shape.

  • Publication number: 20090226254
Abstract: A range of various sized attachments of infrared heaters powered by liquid petroleum gas (LPG) for installation to a number of different styles of vehicles. These infrared heaters are designed to heat asphalt and other road and structure surfaces for subsequent repair. The vehicles may be an adaptation to existing designs of medium to heavy road going flat bed trucks or to various types of construction loaders. The attachments to construction loaders may be installed as adaptions to front end loader quick-change systems or back hoe bucket mount positions. The whole attachment and its support operating and control assembly may be easily removed for addition to other vehicles of similar types. With the area heated to an appropriate temperature to release the bound surface structure it can then be raked and combined with minimal amounts of new surface fill if required to the previously damaged area.

  • Patent number: 6967089
Abstract: An expression construct is disclosed which is useful for delivering mature somatotropin to a host. Mature somatotropin is operably linked to an insulin secretory signal. Host cells comprising the expression cassette are cultured under conditions enabling the expression and secretion of somatotropin.

  • Publication number: 20040028342
Abstract: A connector for making an optical connection underwater or in a wet environment, including first and second connector parts adapted to be interengaged, the first connector part having a probe and the second connector part having a chamber containing fluid media. The probe has a forward portion for entry into the chamber of the second part containing fluid media during interengagement of the connector parts, so that when the connector parts are interengaged the probe provides an optical path between the first connector part and the chamber of the second connector part and passing into the chamber of the second connector part at a slant to the axial direction. The probe slides axially through the opening in sliding engagement with a seal and continues to do so as the forward portion of the probe advances into the chamber containing fluid media.
