    Abstract: The present invention is a mechanical grasping device for fireplaces, specifically for manipulating and moving burning logs, embers and other hot elements in or near a fireplace. The present invention includes a hollow tubular structure, a solid rod that runs inside the length of the hollow tubular member, a looped handle that rotates attached to one end of solid rod, and pivotal and stationary grasping prongs located at the end opposite looped handle.
