  • Patent number: 9259879
Abstract: Curable prepregs possessing enhanced ability for the removal of gases from within prepregs and between prepreg plies in a prepreg layup prior to and/or during consolidation and curing. Each curable prepreg is a resin-impregnated, woven fabric that has been subjected to a treatment to create an array of openings in at least one major surface. The location of the openings is specific to the weave pattern of the fabric. Furthermore, when these prepregs are laid up and subjected to a debulking process to form a composite part, a shorter debulking time can be achieved as compared to using prepregs without the same surface openings.

  • Publication number: 20150161159
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for forming deduplicated images of a data object that changes over time using difference information between temporal states of the data object. The method includes organizing the content of the data object for a first temporal state as a plurality of content segments and storing the content segments in a data store; creating an organized arrangement of hash structures to represent the data object in its first temporal state; receiving difference information for the data object; forming at least one hash signature for the changed content; and storing the changed content that is unique in the data store as content segments. The method also includes determining, subsequent to receiving the changed content at the deduplicating content store, whether the changed content should be stored by searching for the hash signature for the changed higher-level hash structure in the global cache of the deduplicating content store.

  • Publication number: 20150106580
Abstract: Systems and methods for backing-up data from a first storage pool to a second storage pool using difference information between time states are disclosed. The system has a data management engine for performing data management functions, including at least a back-up function to create a back-up copy of data. By executing a sequence of snapshot operations to create point-in-time images of application data on a first storage pool, each successive point-in-time image corresponding to a specific, successive time-state of the application data, a series of snapshots is created. The snapshots are then used to create difference information indicating which application data has changed and the content of the changed application data for the corresponding time state. This difference information is then sent to a second storage pool to create a back-up copy of data for the current time-state.

  • Publication number: 20140370237
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a dry, self-supporting fibrous material, the fibers of which have been treated with a binder composition. The fibrous material can be slit into tapes or tows that are suitable for use in an Automated Tape Laying (ATL) or Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) process. This fibrous material is suitable for forming preforms which are configured to receive a matrix resin by resin infusion in the manufacturing of structural composite parts.

  • Patent number: 8729039
Abstract: The invention consists of oligonucleotides which inhibit the immunostimulatory activity of ISS-ODN (immunostimulatory sequence oligodeoxynucleotides) as well as methods for their identification and use. The oligonucleotides of the invention are useful in controlling therapeutically intended ISS-ODN adjuvant activity as well as undesired ISS-ODN activity exerted by recombinant expression vectors, such as those used for gene therapy and gene immunization. The oligonucleotides of the invention also have anti-inflammatory activity useful in reducing inflammation in response to infection of a host with ISS-ODN containing microbes, in controlling autoimmune disease and in boosting host Th2 type immune responses to an antigen. The invention also encompasses pharmaceutically useful conjugates of the oligonucleotides of the invention (including conjugate partners such as antigens and antibodies).

  • Publication number: 20140034223
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to the targeted deposition of particles below 100 microns onto a substrate such as a film, tape, adhesive, fabric, fibers or a combination thereof. The targeted deposition may be accomplished by a dual-component electro-static deposition process. In one embodiment, the substrate having at least one layer of particles thereon may be combined with a prepreg. Prepregs manufactured according to embodiments of the invention may be used to manufacture composites with more robust mechanical and strength characteristics relative to conventional composites manufactured using conventional prepregs in addition to providing improved processed performance during the manufacture of the particle-coated substrate. In another embodiment, targeted deposition may be applied directly to a composite article to achieve similar benefits.
