  • Patent number: 8403092
Abstract: A motorcycle suspension for a motorcycle, the motorcycle having a frame member, a swingarm member, and a pivot point about which the swingarm member rotates with respect to the frame member, the suspension system comprising an airbag mounted above the swingarm member pivot point and interposed between the frame member and the swingarm member and a shock absorber/dampener in a position below the swingarm member pivot point as used in the traditional Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Company® SOFTAIL® motorcycle type suspension position. The system optionally can be connected to an air compressor to adjust the pressure in the airbag member so as to control ride height, ride quality, payload capacity, or a combination thereof. The system optionally can also be connected to a controller, such as a microprocessor, that automatically adjusts the system to predetermined values in response to environmental and road conditions.

  • Publication number: 20090033312
Abstract: The detector utilises the microstructure and effects integration of an electric field over the volume of a ferrite core. The detector, in one form, includes upper ferrite pole half (1), lower ferrite pole half (7), circuit board (4), insulating washer (5) and spring conductor (2). Assembled, between the ferrite halves (1 and 7) is the spring conductor (2) compressed against the upper ferrite (1) and the circuit board (4) with the washer (5) between the circuit board (4) and the lower ferrite (7). There are two conducting plates (3), either side of the circuit board (4), a first insulated from the lower ferrite (7) by the washer (5) and the second in electrical contact with the upper ferrite (1) via spring conductor (2). A voltage produced across the plates (4) is related to the detected electric field.

  • Publication number: 20060186872
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method to detect electric field intensity. It is a generational improvement on free body field detectors and uses a ferrite sensor element to increase detector capacitance and hence signal output. This configuration also provides reduced detector volume, increased stability and a reduction in susceptibility to capacitive coupling. This system provides an output signal proportional to the electric field strength integrated over the volume of the ferrite detector element. Further this system is low cost and passive. A passive system uses no supply power and does not suffer from increased noise floor characteristics like active devices.

  • Publication number: 20030230909
Abstract: An enclosure for a vehicle bed is provided. The enclosure comprises a retractable cover that includes a control assembly that allows for simple and convenient operation of the cover so that the cover can be positioned in a number of intermediate positions in a vehicle bed. One embodiment of the present invention includes a handle that is offset from a centerline of the retractable cover. Another embodiment of the present invention includes a light that is mounted within the vehicle bed.
