Publication number: 20210253451Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling and isolating ion generation from target metal ion precipitation and flocculation rely on an ion generator and a precipitation reactor distinct, separated, optimized, and otherwise independent from each other as to flow regime and contained fluid at all times. No co-habitation of ion generation and precipitation nor their flow regimes is permitted in a single unit. Plug flow at hyper turbulence in the ion generator contrasts with quiescent to laminar flows in the precipitation reactor. Insulating coatings and uneven surface retreat (decay, sacrifice, removal) at sacrificial anodes are replaced by a uniform, electro-machined, anodic surface by controlling against conventional “over driving” of ionizing currents. A precipitation reactor is optimized by a dwell time effective to precipitate and flocculate heavy target metal precipitants and sacrificial ions relying on weak forces therein, overwhelmed by inertial forces in the ion generator upstream.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2021Publication date: August 19, 2021Inventors: C. Michael Miller, David A. Bell, Mark William Hubbard, Richard Rosier

Patent number: 10011505Abstract: An apparatus and method isolating ion generation from target metal precipitation and flocculation rely on an ion generator and a precipitation reactor distinct, separated, optimized, and otherwise independent from each other as to flow regime and contained fluid at all times. No co-habitation of ion generation and precipitation nor their flow regimes is permitted in a single unit. Plug flow at hyper turbulence in the ion generator contrasts with quiescent to laminar flows in the precipitation reactor. Coating sacrificial anodes is avoided by avoiding over driving currents for ionization at the anode. A precipitation reactor is optimized by a dwell time effective to precipitate and flocculate heavy target metal precipitants and sacrificial ions relying on weak forces not tolerated by inertial forces in the ion generator.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2014Date of Patent: July 3, 2018Assignee: THOUGHT PRESERVE, LLCInventors: C. Patent number: 9224165Abstract: A method, system, architecture and apparatus for deploying multiple e-commerce systems in a single computing platform. In accordance with the present invention, an e-commerce systems architecture can include an instantiable owning business logic component derived from an abstract business definition and one or more instantiable business element components configured for aggregation under the control of a business facility instance. The business facility instance can include a coupling to an instance of the owning business logic component. Finally, the architecture can include an instantiable partner business component derived from the abstract business definition. In particular, the instantiable partner business component can include a configuration for limited access to selected ones of the instantiable business element components aggregated under the control of the business facility instance.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: December 29, 2015Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Victor Chan, Mark William Hubbard, Darshanand Khusial, Lev Mirlas

Patent number: 8635094Abstract: A method for role-based personalization of a collaborative space can include generating a collaborative space utilizing role information for an interacting user that has been defined by an underlying business process model in a workflow. For example, the step of generating a collaborative space can include parsing the workflow to extract a role model, generating a collaborative space domain model from the role model, selecting a plurality of user interface components based upon the role model, organizing the selected user interface components in the collaborative space, and rendering the collaborative space.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2005Date of Patent: January 21, 2014Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Mark William Hubbard, Ross McKegney, Tack Tong, Qi Zhang, Ying Zou

Patent number: 7870101Abstract: An abstraction layer associates a party-focused object, a security-focused object, or both, with an abstraction object. The party-focused or security focused object has one or more properties. The properties are presented in the abstraction object defined by the mapping schema. The abstraction layer converts a set of repository objects to at least one abstraction object.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2005Date of Patent: January 11, 2011Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Mark William Hubbard, David Gerard Kuehr-McLaren, Govindaraj Sampathkumar, Janette Siu Jong Wong

Patent number: 7571447Abstract: A Web services access management system which enables loosely coupled Web services can include a servlet configured to receive incoming request messages to access business logic and a mapping table associating different ones of the request messages with different business logic. Mapping logic can be disposed between the servlet and the business logic and configured to route at least part of the incoming request messages to selected ones of the business logic according to the mapping table. Finally, the system can include a response builder configured to build responses with data produced by the business logic responsive to processing incoming request messages routed by the mapping logic. In this regard, changes to the mapping logic can remain transparent to clients transmitting request messages and the business logic servicing the requests.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2005Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Afshan Ally, Mark William Hubbard, John Wright Stephenson
