  • Patent number: 8007236
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a supporting system for suspended wind turbines placed in mountainous areas and cliff seashores. The system includes: substantially vertical support the turbine is attached to and a turbine coupled using a mechanism allowing a full-circle rotation of the turbine around the support. A carrying cable stretched over the ground carries downward vertical loads applied to the system, and a number of guy ropes, placed angularly to each other, carry applied wind loads. In the second and the third versions of the invention it is disclosed modifications of the main structural system for supporting vertical-axis wind turbines and the turbines placed in cliff seashore.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6655641
Abstract: A suspended supporting system for supporting a substantially rigid linear structure (2) such as a pipeline, a tramway, a walkway bridge, a transportation gallery, an underwater tunnel, etc. placed above the ground/seabed/riverbed, the system including: apparatus (1) attached to the linear structure, pulling the linear structure upward, generating upward vertical force of magnitude great enough for carrying downward vertical loads and lateral loads applied to the linear structure; and at least two guy ropes (5) placed at an angle with each other, upper ends of which are attached to the linear structure and lower ends of which are attached to a footing structure (7) placed on or anchored in the ground/seabed/riverbed.

  • Patent number: 5960502
Abstract: A method for erection by launching of prefabricated modular deck of viaducts, motorway flyovers and the like and a mechanism for performing the method. The mechanism is a mobile bridge including towers and a replaceable platform supported by the towers. Each tower consists of a set of telescopic sections moveable up and down, placed on a track. Carrying capacity and structure of the bridge provide supporting and lowering the deck module and its carrier. The platform which length is less than a distance between the viaduct piers has expandable ends. To increase stability of the bridge during the erection process the platform can be temporarily affixed to the viaduct. The method is performed as a set of steps. Steps 1 and 2--installing the bridge between viaduct piers to provide a continuous way from an existing part of the viaduct to the bridge. Steps 3 and 4--delivering the module to the place of erection using an existing part of the viaduct as a road.

  • Patent number: 5655457
Abstract: A system of suspended supports for aerial transportation like ski lifts, tramways, freight ropeways, and high voltage electricity lines, has a main carrying element which is a long-span cable along the route, and which is suspended at its ends. A plurality of spaced supports for the aerial means are hung from the cable. Each support has a rigid element carrying the carrying cable and guy ropes, one end of which is attached to the rigid element and another end which is anchored in the ground. The guy ropes carry horizontal and upward vertical loads, and torques applied to the rigid element and fix a position of the rigid element.
