  • Patent number: 11104311
Abstract: A brake control system adapted for use in a motor vehicle is disclosed, which brake control system is intended to determine, while an ACC device of the motor vehicle is active and based on environmental data obtained from one or more environmental sensors associated with the motor vehicle, a braking correction value for an emergency braking profile describing the braking behaviour of the motor vehicle. The environmental sensors are adapted to provide the brake control system with the environmental data representing the area in front of the motor vehicle. The brake control system is adapted to provide a target braking profile and to determine an actual braking profile on the basis of environmental data provided during an ACC braking operation. The brake control system is further adapted to compare the target braking profile with the actual braking profile and on the basis of the comparison result to determine the braking correction value.

  • Patent number: 7831368
Abstract: A system for influence the speed of a host vehicle while the host vehicle is driving in a lane based on a control unit evaluating an environment of a host vehicle. The system has an electronic control unit connected to many sensors. The sensors each generate a signal. The control unit controls the host vehicle based on the signals from the sensors and further calculates a “bendiness”characteristic value from a yaw rate signal of the host vehicle. Sensed objects including other vehicles which are further away than other vehicles from the host vehicle are excluded from selection as target vehicle based on the “bendiness” characteristic value.

  • Patent number: 7774123
Abstract: An electronic control unit of a motor vehicle is connected to signal transmitters and generates output signals in response to a desired speed signal, a yaw signal, a target vehicle signal, and a wheel speed signal. The electronic control unit generates a trigger signal that limits the momentary speed (or momentarily the acceleration) of the motor vehicle for at least a value that substantially corresponds to a maximum of a distance X between the motor vehicle and a target motor vehicle at the same time of its leaving the detection area. The distance X is reduced by a shortening stretch DX to an effective distance Xeff that is dependent on at least one of an environmental condition environment (motorway, country road, town traffic), the speed of the target motor vehicle at the time of leaving the detection area, the momentary speed of the motor vehicle, and the bend radii of bends already driven through in the past within a predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 7177750
Abstract: System for evaluating the driving environment of a motor vehicle and for influencing the speed of the motor vehicle in its own lane, with an electronic control unit, which is connected to a signal generator generating a signal which is characteristic of the desired speed of the motor vehicle, a signal generator generating a signal which is characteristic of the yaw rate of the motor vehicle about its vertical axis, a signal generator which generates, for objects located in the space lying in front of the motor vehicle in its direction of travel, a signal which is characteristic of the distance and orientation of the objects with respect to the motor vehicle and which reproduces the speed relative to the speed of the driver's motor vehicle, and/or the distance relative to the driver's motor vehicle, and/or the angular offset or the lateral deviation relative to the vehicle longitudinal axis of the driver's motor vehicle, and a signal generator generating a signal which is characteristic of the speed at least o
