Publication number: 20070125527Abstract: The invention relates to a device for multi-stage heat exchange and to a method for producing one such device, whereby at least three free-flowing media (fluids) are used in three flow devices subdivided into at least two heat-exchanging or flow modules. Said modules respectively consist of at least two flow elements that are arranged in such a way that different fluids alternately flow through the same. For essentially liquid fluids, the fluids are distributed to the flow elements by means of fluid collecting devices or fluid distributing devices connected in a gas-tight and liquid-tight manner. The main flow directions of all fluids in the flow elements are in essentially parallel planes. At least two flow modules are directly mounted in series and/or by means of fluid distributing devices in a flow-connected manner at least in relation to one flow device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2004Publication date: June 7, 2007Applicant: BEHR GmgH & CO. KGInventors: Markus Flik, Jochen Eitel, Peter Geskes, Michael Lohle, Ulrich Maucher

Publication number: 20060060345Abstract: The invention relates to a cooling circuit (2), especially for a motor vehicle transmission, comprising at least one heat exchanger (4, 5). According to the invention, two heat exchangers (4, 5) are serially connected. A first heat exchanger (4) causes heat to be conveyed from a first (10) to a second fluid (1, 3) while a second heat exchanger causes heat to be conveyed from the first (10) in a third fluid (9).Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2004Publication date: March 23, 2006Applicant: BEHR GMBH & CO. KGInventors: Markus Flik, Andreas Thumm

Publication number: 20050199382Abstract: The invention relates to a heat transmitter arrangement (1) comprising a first heat transmitter (2), a second heat transmitter (3) and a third heat transmitter (4) which are arranged in parallel and configured as a single piece. Seen from the direction in which the air flows, two of the heat transmitters are arranged at the same level.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 23, 2003Publication date: September 15, 2005Inventors: Markus Flik, Jochen Eitel, Volker Kurz

Patent number: 6244256Abstract: An EGR system for an internal combustion engine has a separate, secondary high-temperature cooling loop, in addition to a primary cooling loop. In the secondary cooling loop, coolant flows through a secondary high-temperature exhaust gas cooler, which is located upstream of the primary exhaust gas cooler. A large amount of heat is transferred from the exhaust gases to the coolant in the secondary high-temperature cooling loop. The heat absorbed by the high-temperature coolant is rejected in a secondary high-temperature radiator. Heat absorbed by the primary coolant is rejected in a primary radiator. The two radiators occupy the same amount of frontal area as a single radiator used in a conventional single-stage EGR cooling system, but overall reject more heat to the ambient. In an alternate arrangement, the EGR system for a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine has a single exhaust gas cooler which is cooled by an EGR cooling loop that is independent of the engine cooling system.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1999Date of Patent: June 12, 2001Assignees: Behr GmbH & Co., Cummins Engine Company, Inc., Behr America, Inc.Inventors: John C. Wall, Markus Flik, Hans Lange

Patent number: 5997078Abstract: An instrument panel for a motor vehicle comprises structural parts that, with the exception of the space required for the components of an air temperature conditioning system including at least one of a heater and an air conditioner, virtually completely fill the interior of the instrument panel. The structural parts are shaped to form air duct.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1997Date of Patent: December 7, 1999Assignee: Behr GmbH & Co.Inventors: Oliver Beck, Herbert Damsohn, Markus Flik, Michael Foerster, Walter Wolf

Patent number: 5934987Abstract: A device and method for controlling air conduction in a vehicle includes an air conduction element. The air conduction element is controlled as a function of the moisture in the vehicle interior, intermediate positions of the air conduction element being possible between a maximum proportion of circulating air and a maximum proportion of fresh air. In this way, the proportion of fresh air is increased only gradually when there is a high pollution impact if the interior moisture does not exceed a maximum moisture value .PHI..sub.max. Control of the moisture in the vehicle interior increases the comfort of the vehicle occupants. A circulating-air dryer makes it possible, in principle, to continue in circulating-air operation for an unlimited period.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1997Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignee: Behr GmbH & Co.Inventors: Wilhelm Baruschke, Alexander Boehlendorf, Markus Flik, Oliver Kaefer, Hans Kampf, Karl Lochmahr, Tilo Rinckleb, Dieter Schmadl
