  • Publication number: 20240085504
Abstract: An NMR apparatus having a magnet coil system for generating a homogeneous magnetic field comprises a superconducting magnet within a vacuum vessel in the cold region of a cryostat and a shim system containing shim elements outside the vacuum vessel, wherein the magnet has a first mechanical connection point to the vacuum vessel via a magnet suspension, and the shim system has a second mechanical connection point to the vacuum vessel via a positioning element. On at least one portion of a path along the vacuum vessel from the first mechanical connection point to the second mechanical connection point and/or on at least one portion of a path along the positioning element from the second mechanical connection point to the shim system, only materials whose thermal expansion coefficient at operating temperature is less than 5 ppm/K are used. Magnetic field homogeneity can thus be kept largely stable and constant.

  • Patent number: 11635478
Abstract: A fastening device for releasably fastening a probe (1) to an NMR magnet (2). An insert part (3) fastens the probe to a retaining system (4) connected to the magnet. A force-variable connection is established by the insert part with spring elements (8). The probe fastens to the insert part with rigid retaining elements (6). When closed, a connection without mechanical play exists between the insert part and the retaining elements when the spring elements are under tension. An annular disc-shaped pretensioning element (9) is arranged between the insert part and the retaining system. By rotating the pretensioning element relative to the insert part, the pretensioning element presses on and pretensions the spring elements. When open, the spring elements and the retaining elements are configured to connect with a mechanical play of 0.5 to 5 mm between the insert part and the retaining elements when the spring elements are pretensioned.

  • Patent number: 11236537
Abstract: A door component has a controllable damping device and contains a magnetorheological fluid. Two connection units are movable relative to one another. One of the two connection units is connected to a support structure and the other one to a pivotable door unit. The device damps a movement of the door unit between a closed position and an open position in a controlled manner by way of a control unit. The magnetorheological damping device has a piston unit and a cylinder unit surrounding the piston unit. The piston unit divides a cylinder volume into two chambers. The piston unit is equipped with a first one-way valve. The two chambers are connected together, via an external return channel equipped with at least one controllable magnetorheological damping valve, to form a one-way circuit. When the piston unit moves in and out, the magnetorheological fluid flows through the piston unit in the same flow direction.
