  • Patent number: 9926970
Abstract: A swivel joint system for pivotally connecting a mirror to a vehicle includes a first arm, a second arm, a locking pin, a spring element and a centering element. The first arm has first and second bearing shells. The second arm has a first counter bearing shell and a second counter bearing shell. The counter bearing shells are disposed between the first bearing shell and the second bearing shell. A first latching surface of the first counter bearing shell contacts and presses against a second latching surface of the first bearing shell. The locking pin passes through the first bearing shell, the second bearing shell and a hole in the centering element. The second arm swivels relative to the first arm about a joint axis that is oriented co-axially to the locking pin. The spring element pushes the locking pin away from the first counter bearing shell.

  • Patent number: 9920327
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to mutations in licheninase genes encoding polypeptides with decreased licheninase activity, which when expressed in plants results in elevated levels of glucan in the plants. In particular, the disclosure relates to licheninase nucleic acids and polypeptides related to glucan accumulation in plants, plants with reduced expression of a licheninase nucleic acid, and methods related to the generation of plants with increased glucan content in the cell walls of leaf tissue.

  • Publication number: 20140308714
Abstract: The disclosure relates to polypeptides and polynucleotides from multiple species related to the O-acetylation of polysaccharides in plants. The disclosure also describes plants with reduced polysaccharide O-acetylation, methods related to the generation of plants with reduced polysaccharide O-acetylation, polysaccharides with reduced O-acetylation, and methods of using plants and polysaccharides having reduced O-acetylation.

  • Patent number: 8735690
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a maize plant, seed, variety, and hybrid. More specifically, the disclosure relates to a maize plant containing a Cal-1 allele, whose expression results in increased cell wall-derived glucan content in the maize plant. The disclosure also relates to crossing inbreds, varieties, and hybrids containing the Cal-1 allele to produce novel types and varieties of maize plants.

  • Patent number: 6251878
Abstract: Methods and compositions are disclosed for the prevention and/or treatment of immunological damage to skin exposed to ultraviolet irradiation. The compositions described herein include biologically active tamarind seed xyloglucan oligosaccharides obtained via treatment of tamarind xyloglucan with a fungal &bgr;-glucanase. Advantageously, the cytoprotective tamarind seed xyloglucan oligosaccharides are stable at ambient conditions. In one aspect, the composition includes an aqueous solution of tamarind seed xyloglucan oligosaccharides having a concentration of at least 10−6 &mgr;g per mL of the solution. In another aspect, the method includes preventing the suppression of delayed type hypersensitivity. In yet another aspect, the invention includes reducing the amount of interleukin-10 produced by keratinocytes in the skin.
