  • Patent number: 11837914
Abstract: An electric drive system includes at least one electric drive unit. The at least one electric drive unit includes an electric motor and inverters that are each supplied with DC voltage via a high-voltage bus. The electric drive system includes a main battery system that has a plurality of battery modules that supply DC voltage to each of the high-voltage buses. The electric device system includes a plurality of reserve batteries. A separate reserve battery is provided for each high-voltage bus. The drive system is configured to make a change to the supply of DC voltage when a corresponding control signal is present for each of the high-voltage buses. A change is made from a supply of DC voltage of the battery module of the main battery system that is assigned to the high-voltage bus to a supply of DC voltage of the reserve battery assigned to the high-voltage bus.

  • Patent number: 11482964
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a redundant electric machine for driving a propulsion means with increased operational safety. The machine may include two systems, with each system including a stator winding system and a rotor assigned thereto with permanent magnets, wherein the rotors are fastened on a common shaft for driving the propulsion means. If a fault occurs in one of the stator winding systems, the rotor, which continues to rotate, has to be prevented from inducing electric voltages in the stator winding system because this may lead to a fire in the machine. A demagnetization apparatus is therefore provided which, in a targeted manner, demagnetizes the permanent magnets of the rotor assigned to the faulty stator winding system such that the inducing of electric voltages is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20210234445
Abstract: The electric machine includes a rotor and a stator, wherein the stator has stator coils, each with a coil core. The electric machine additionally includes an error-recovery device configured to change a magnetic flux coupling of coil cores with one another by a flux conducting element. The hybrid electric aircraft is a hybrid electric airplane, in particular, and the hybrid electric aircraft has such an electric machine.

  • Publication number: 20200366176
Abstract: The machine assembly includes a plurality of electric machines, wherein rotors and/or stators of the electric machines are mechanically coupled to one another. The electric machine serves, in particular, to constitute a machine assembly and includes a housing for a rotor and/or stator, wherein the housing has a respective first and second mechanical connection element, wherein first and second mechanical connection elements correspond to one another. The vehicle may be an electric and/or hybrid-electric vehicle. The vehicle has a machine assembly and/or at least one electric machine, in particular a drive having the machine assembly or the electric machine.

  • Publication number: 20200195096
Abstract: The invention relates to an in particular redundant electrical machine for driving a propulsion means with improved protection against failure. The machine includes for example two submachines consisting in each case of a stator winding system and a rotor, wherein the two rotors are arranged on a common shaft in a rotationally fixed manner, by way of which shaft the propulsion means is ultimately set in motion. Also provided is a movement device which has the effect, in the case of a fault in one of the stator winding systems, that the air gap between the stator winding system in question and the associated rotor is increased for the corresponding faulty submachine such that the electromagnetic interaction between these components is suppressed.
