  • Patent number: 10626968
Abstract: A motor vehicle drivetrain features an input shaft, an output shaft, a continuously variable transmission for coupling the input shaft to the output shaft with a variable transmission ratio between the input shaft and the output shaft, and a bypass transmission with at least one bypass gearing, which has a fixed transmission ratio, in order to couple the input shaft to the output shaft. A value of a transmission ratio of the bypass gearing is less than or equal to half the sum of a value of the maximum forward motion and a value of the minimum forward motion of the variable transmission ratio between the input shaft and the output shaft driven of the continuously variable transmission and/or less than or equal to 1.0. The bypass transmission is configured for driving the motor vehicle with a driving speed of at least 50 km/h or 31 mph.

  • Patent number: 7481152
Abstract: A brewing unit 1 for a coffee machine comprises a brewing cylinder 2 and a piston 5, 13, wherein the brewing cylinder 2 and the piston 5, 13 are movable relative to one another in the axial direction. An activatable seal 12, 18 or seal assembly is provided to seal the piston 5, 13 against the inner wall 3, 15 of the brewing cylinder 2. The seal 12, 18 is activated by an axial movement of piston 5, 13 with respect to the brewing cylinder 2. Under compression when activated, to form a seal between piston 5, 13 and brewing cylinder inner wall 3, 15, and which seal 12, 18 or seal assembly. When not activated, the seal 12, 19 is either not at all, only under low compression contact with the element.

  • Patent number: 6823770
Abstract: A coffee bean container for an automatic coffee maker comprising a receptacle (2) for storing coffee beans, with an output shaft (4) via which coffee beans in the receptacle (2) can be supplied to a grinding mill. The coffee bean container has a coupling ring (7) disposed coaxially to the output shaft (4) for connecting the coffee bean container (1) to an automatic coffee maker. The coffee bean container (1) has a closure unit (12) for closing the output shaft (4) which has at least one closure element (13, 14). The at least one closure element (13, 14) is supported about a pivot axis parallel to the axis of the output shaft (4) and pivotable between an open and a closed position. The closure unit (12) includes a mechanical drive which mechanically couples the closure element(s) (13, 14) to a rotational movement of the receptacle (2) which moves the closure element(s) to the open position or closed position.

  • Patent number: 6120529
Abstract: To heat horizontal surfaces on which patients are placed after surgery, an irradiation apparatus with halogen lamps is provided, the radiation of which is directed toward the horizontal surface to heat it. The surface temperature prevailing in the irradiated area of the horizontal resting surface is detected by a pyrometric sensor as long-wave infrared radiation. This temperature value is used as the controlled variable and is compared with a predetermined nominal value, such as 37.degree. C. In the event of a deviation, a control signal corrects the irradiation intensity by adjusting the power supply to the halogen lamps.

  • Patent number: 5808680
Abstract: A field-of-operation illuminating fixture with a video camera in the vicinity of a lamp housing for displaying the field. The video signals emitted by the camera are forwarded along with signals for controlling the camera over the same cable that transmits power to the lamps. The cable extends through the mechanism that the housing is suspended from, such as being extended from a ceiling. The cable is in sections connected by rotating contacts in the form of slip rings at the articulations between a suspension boom and arms. Video signals and camera-control signals are modulated before entering the cable by a module in the ceiling-mounted base of the fixture and are demodulated in another module after leaving the cable. The video signals are processed in a separate accessory. The present invention provides a cost-effective design for a field-of-operation illuminating fixture equipped for video and simple modification of fixtures already equipped therewith.
