Publication number: 20060180557Abstract: A shelving system having a front support and a back support connected to two end frames contains a plurality of U-shaped bottom supports connected to both the front support and back support. A plurality of separators are connected lengthwise to the two end frames defining channels for receiving rectangular parallelepiped articles, such as DVD cases, to be stored on the shelving system. The channels are sufficiently wide and deep enough to permit the stored articles to be tipped frontwards and rearwards for inspection, but no so wide as to allow the articles to be easily dislodged while tipping. Slide stops are connected lengthwise to the front support and back support across the top of the channels to prevent sideways shifting of the stored articles. Components of the shelving system are constructed of metal wire to reduce dust accumulation and maintenance.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2005Publication date: August 17, 2006Inventors: Marshall Weinstein, Malcolm Finke

Publication number: 20050160774Abstract: A multimedia security case combined with a slide lock and key includes a cover attached to a base with a hinge located between them, and is moveable between an open and closed position. The cover and base both have flanged tongue half portions having apertures which, when the security case is closed, together form a flanged tongue having apertures that serve as locking bar receptacles. The slide lock slides onto the flanged tongue clamping the case shut, and, has locking bars that engage the locking bar receptacles, preventing disengagement of the lock without the key of the invention. A key is provided having key teeth that disengage the locking bars from the apertures while simultaneously causing the removal of the slide lock from the case so that it may be opened.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2004Publication date: July 28, 2005Inventors: Marshall Weinstein, Kenneth Muderlak

Publication number: 20020021002Abstract: A security label system includes a security label, a protective label, and a means for applying said labels to an item using an applicator workstation. Preferably, said security label system inexpensively and readily identifies and protects compact disc multimedia from theft or damage occurring during sale or rental. Said security label system includes tamper-evident, non-transferable security labels and a reliable means of identification that does not damage or interfere with delicate digital data. In particular, a security label system readily informs merchants if merchandise has been tampered with.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 1999Publication date: February 21, 2002Inventors: EVAN FINKE, MALCOLM K. Patent number: 5424265Abstract: A capsule for absorbing liquid waste which contains a a capsule body, a capsule cap joined to said capsule body, and a powder disposed within said capsule. The body of the capsule consists essentially of water-soluble material. Each of the capsule cap and the capsule body contains a domed-shape end section and a linear body section, each of which contains several orifices. The density of orifices in the domed-shape sections exceeds the density of the orifices in the linear body sections. Disposed within the capsule is a powdered absorbent material.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1993Date of Patent: June 13, 1995Assignee: Safetec of AmericaInventor: Marshall A. Weinstein

Patent number: 5419011Abstract: A display case includes separately formed components: (1) a casing which defines an internal cavity having an open end, and (2) a latching closure device with an integrated living hinge. The two components are made of different plastic materials, wherein the different materials have properties advantageously suited for each component. Preferably, the living hinge and closure device is made of a resilient plastic, while the casing is made of a substantially transparent plastic through which the interior of the casing and its contents can be viewed.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1993Date of Patent: May 30, 1995Assignee: Specialty Store Services, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm K. Patent number: 4921097Abstract: A display case for jacketed cassettes includes a casing that defines an internal cavity and a protrusion that projects into the cavity. The casing provides an opening that permits the slidable withdrawal of a cassette from the display case in a well-defined, unique and predetermined direction. The protrusion is attached to the lid of the casing that is movable between open and closed positions and is engaged with the jacket on closing the lid to prevent the movement of the jacket in the direction of withdrawal of the cassette. Locking means keep the lid in closed position once engagement with the jacket has been achieved. The display case of the invention permits the cassette and the entire, unaltered advertising wrap or jacket to be conveniently displayed by the retailer and ultimately transported by the renter or user who chooses the video tape for viewing.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1989Date of Patent: May 1, 1990Assignee: Specialty Store Services, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm K.
