  • Patent number: 11730431
Abstract: An improved injection port identification for injection ports implanted under the skin of a patient. The injection port has an x-ray discernable marker allowing for the determination of a pressure rating for the injection port when so implanted. A plurality of concurrent visual, RF, light emitting and sonic means for signaling the port's pressure rating are also employable to provide multiple concurrent affirmations of the port's readiness for high pressure injections.

  • Patent number: 10849610
Abstract: The wound protector has an annularly collapsible proximal ring and a flexible sleeve extends between the proximal ring and distal ring. After positioning of the distal ring in a wound, the proximal ring is expanded to draw the sleeve taut between the rings and is drawn tight against the wound. In one embodiment, the proximal ring includes a bent hollow tube with an arcuate rod in the tube bridging the open ends of the tube and a compression spring extending within the tube against the ends of the rod to bias the proximal ring into an extended state. Finger grips on the ends of the tube allow for squeezing of the tube into a collapsed state.

  • Patent number: 10441251
Abstract: A fluid drainage system is provided which is configured to engage with a drainage tube engaged with a drainage site with a patient. The container has an internal cavity with negative pressure to impart suction to the drainage tube and can be engaged to the drainage tube without loss of negative pressure during the process. Secondary containers may be engaged to restore negative pressure to the first container and remove fluid therefrom. Walls of the first container may be shaped to resist deflection due to high internal negative pressure.

  • Patent number: 10413285
Abstract: A microcatheter deliverable implant is provided formed of an elongated wire of a diameter capable of delivery through the axial passage of such a microcatheter. A first portion of the formed implant forms a coiled first section larger in diameter than an anomaly to be blocked. A second portion formed by the coiled wire engages the implant between the first and second portions to block communication of fluid through the anomaly.

  • Patent number: 10328186
Abstract: A device for the drainage of a pleural effusion through an operatively engaged chest tube in the chest wall. The device employs a check valve situated between a vacuum source communicating with the chest tube to prevent reversal of the fluid flow out of the patient's body and possible contamination. A valve mounted on a vacuum bottle provides user control of communication of negative pressure from the vacuum bottle to the chest tube. Opening the valve on the bottle communicates negative pressure to the chest tube relative to the pressure in the tube thereby initiating a fluid flow out of the tube and the patient. Once the valve on the bottle is closed, fluid flow ceases and the check valve prevents reversal of the flow.

  • Patent number: 10238376
Abstract: The wound protector has an annularly collapsible distal ring, an expansion member and a flexible sleeve extending between the distal ring and expansion member. After positioning of the distal ring in a wound, movement of the expansion member into an extended state expands the sleeve while drawing the sleeve tight against the wound and the expansion member against the patient.

  • Patent number: 9492153
Abstract: In one embodiment, the wound protector has an annularly collapsible proximal ring and a flexible sleeve extends between the proximal ring and distal ring. After positioning of the distal ring in a wound, the proximal ring is expanded to draw the sleeve taut between the rings 11, 12 and is drawn tight against the wound. In a second embodiment, the wound protector has a flexible sleeve secured between a distal ring and proximal ring of fixed diameters. In addition, an expansion member is disposed within a loop of the flexible sleeve about the proximal ring. After positioning of the distal ring in a wound, movement of the expansion member into an extended diametric state expands the loop in the sleeve diametrically while drawing the rings towards each other.
