  • Publication number: 20230256026
Abstract: The present invention relates to the treatment of Epidermolysis Bullosa, particularly the recessive dystrophic subtype (RDEB), using the Clustered- Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) system. This technology offers the possibility to design a single guide RNA (sgRNA) which is incorporated into a CRISPR- associated protein (Cas9) to recognize and induce DNA double-strand breaks at a specific target location. DNA double-strand breaks will be repaired by homologous recombination (HR) in the presence of a donor sequence for Epidermolysis Bullosa gene repair. In the context of Epidermolysis Bullosa, this allows to repair the mutation/s causing the disease.

  • Publication number: 20230063695
Abstract: Fermented milk products can provide multiple benefits. However, it was commonly believed that fermented milk products are not suitable for the administration to canids as e.g. dogs can be intolerant to lactose. The present invention provides fermented milk products for administration to canids.

  • Patent number: 11545155
Abstract: A speaker recognition system for authenticating a mobile device user includes an enrollment and learning software module, a voice biometric authentication software module, and a secure software application. Upon request by a user of the mobile device, the enrollment and learning software module displays text prompts to the user, receives speech utterances from the user, and produces a voice biometric print. The enrollment and training software module determines when a voice biometric print has met at least a quality threshold before storing it on the mobile device. The secure software application prompts a user requiring authentication to repeat an utterance based at least on an attribute of a selected voice biometric print, receives a corresponding utterance, requests the voice biometric authentication software module to verify the identity of the second user using the utterance, and, if the user is authenticated, imports the voice biometric print.

  • Publication number: 20220339628
Abstract: A method for preparing, in the internal volume of at least one channel, a monolithic support on which uranyl cations are immobilised. The method comprises: (a) activating the inner surface of the channel(s); (b) introducing, into the internal volume of the channel(s), a polymerisation solution comprising: a monomer comprising a phosphate group, at least one crosslinking agent, several solvents, and a radical polymerisation initiator; (c) polymerising the polymerisation solution; (d) rinsing the monolithic support obtained in step (c); and (e) contacting the monolithic support previously rinsed, with a solution comprising uranyl cations. A method for capturing proteins that selectively bind uranium by means of a monolithic support prepared by the above-mentioned method, as well as to a method for recovering proteins that selectively bind uranium with the capture method.

  • Publication number: 20220274683
Abstract: A pressure bulkhead having a laminate body made of composite material with a polymer matrix reinforced with fibers in a laminate arrangement; a general bulging of the laminate body, which extends along a face thereof; concave reliefs and convex reliefs alternately arranged on the laminate body, defining stiffer areas of change from convexity to concavity that act as stiffeners, the concave reliefs and convex reliefs having a maximum angular width of 180 degrees to prevent negatives in the production mould and to facilitate demoulding; and a rigid interface embedded in the laminate body, for securing the bulkhead, and for securing to the aircraft structure.

  • Patent number: 10877727
Abstract: A received signal represents a user's speech. A first speaker recognition process is performed on a first portion of the received signal, to obtain a first output result. A second speaker recognition process is performed on a second portion of the received signal that is different from the first portion of the received signal, to obtain a second output result. The second speaker recognition process is different from the first speaker recognition process. The first and second output results are combined to obtain a combined output result indicating a likelihood that the user is a registered user.
