  • Patent number: 11643956
Abstract: A method for determining a reference value of a presence of at least one substance (NOx) occurring in an exhaust gas stream of an internal combustion engine (101), wherein the at least one substance is subjected to exhaust treatment, the exhaust treatment being carried out in dependence on the reference value (Emref; Emref,1; Emref,2) When the internal combustion engine (101) is started: accumulating the occurrence (EmACC,1; EmACC,2) of the at least one substance (NOx) downstream from the exhaust treatment during a first period, and determining whether to redetermine the reference value (Emref; Emref,1; Emref,2) based on the accumulated occurrence (EmACC,1; EmACC,2) of the at least one substance (NOx).

  • Patent number: 11248539
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided for controlling an internal combustion that comprises a cylinder having a space arranged to receive air and fuel, a piston disposed in the cylinder, and a crankcase being in fluid communication with the cylinder. The method comprises determining an uncontrolled behavior due to fluid flow between said crankcase and said cylinder space and combustion of such fluid, which entails: determining whether a powertrain of the vehicle is disengaged; determining whether the engine speed is increasing; and determining whether said cylinder space is receiving fuel. The method further comprises determining that an uncontrolled behavior is occurring if the conditions that: said powertrain is disengaged, the engine speed is increasing and said cylinder space is not receiving any fuel, are fulfilled.

  • Publication number: 20190178169
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, system, and computer program product for controlling an internal combustion that comprises a cylinder having a space arranged to receive air and fuel, a piston disposed in the cylinder, and a crankcase being in fluid communication with the cylinder. The method comprises determining an uncontrolled behavior due to fluid flow between said crankcase and said cylinder space and combustion of such fluid. The step of determining an uncontrolled behavior comprises the steps of: determining whether a powertrain of the vehicle is disengaged; determining whether the engine speed is increasing; and determining whether said cylinder space is receiving fuel. The method further comprises determining that an uncontrolled behavior is occurring if the conditions that: said powertrain is disengaged, the engine speed is increasing and said cylinder space is not receiving any fuel, are fulfilled.

  • Publication number: 20190178170
Abstract: The present invention relates to by a method, system, and computer program product for determining an uncontrolled behavior of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle due to unintentional combustion of fluid flowing between a crankcase and a cylinder space of said combustion engine. The method comprises the step of determining at least one vehicle related condition. The step of determining at least one vehicle related condition: determining whether a powertrain for said vehicle is in an engaged or a disengaged state; determining whether the engine speed is increasing; and determining whether said cylinder space is receiving fuel. The method further comprises the step of determining that an uncontrolled behavior is at hand if the conditions that: said powertrain is disengaged, the engine speed is increasing and said cylinder space is not receiving any fuel, are fulfilled.

  • Patent number: 6518911
Abstract: A non-skid, radar absorbing system 10. The system absorbs and scatters incident microwave and/or millimeter wave radiation so as to decrease retro reflectance. The system includes an absorbing layer (RAM) 14 juxtaposed with a substrate 12. Disposed adjacent the RAM 14 is a non-skid matrix layer 16 for providing a safe foot hold. Optionally, a protective environmental topcoat 18 is applied to the non-skid layer 16. The system has electrical and magnetic characteristics such that radar energy at a discrete or broadband frequencies is at least partially absorbed. The invention also includes methods of making and using the non-skid, radar absorbing system 10.
