    Abstract: A roof rack for a jeep type vehicle having a removable canopy. The roof rack having a rack member suspended overtop of the canopy by mounting members which are connected to support brackets positioned inside the canopy. Portions of side surfaces of the canopy are positioned between the connection of the mounting members and the support brackets. The support brackets transfer loads from the rack member to the vehicle without requiring mounting to bumpers or a windshield frame of the jeep type vehicle.
