Abstract: A Reactor (1) for solid phase synthesis comprises a vessel (2), a plurality of filters (3) arranged in the vessel (2) and a plurality of filtrate outlets (4) for evacuating the filtrate out of the filters (3). Each filter (3) is connected to one filtrate outlet (4). The reactor (1) comprises means (3, 4) for delivering a gas into the vessel (2) in a region of the vessel (2) near to the bottom (24) of the vessel (2) and beside the filters (3).

Abstract: A fiberoptic cable tester includes a body having an inlet fitting, an outlet and a channel that extends between the inlet fitting and the outlet. A magnification and focusing assembly is mounted within the channel between the inlet fitting and the outlet. A fiberoptic cable end fitting is communicably interengaged with the inlet fitting and light is transmitted through the magnification and focusing assembly and the channel to the outlet. The light is projected from the outlet and against a target area to produce an image which is indicative of the condition of the fiberoptic cable.

Abstract: A leak detection and shut-off system designed to detect a liquid leak or excess moisture at key locations in a piping system. The system includes a wireless detector comprising a sensor and transmitter which sends a signal to a receiver. The receiver triggers a control board to activate the closing of a valve to stop the flow of the liquid into the internal system or a block of a closed system.

Abstract: An injection laser, which is chemically etched to provide mirror-like surfaces, also is provided with a chirped diffraction grating. The latter grating, which is etched in the injection laser, combines with the chemically etched sides to provide laser emission in a direction substantially parallel to the current flowing through the laser. As an alternative to the chirped diffraction grating, waveguides are included in the resulting folded cavity laser. Either of the above structures relaxes the fabrication tolerance in the inclined surfaces etched in the laser relative to known folded cavity lasing structures.
