Abstract: A system for surveying a track includes two outer measuring devices and a central measuring device disposed therebetween, relative to the longitudinal direction of the track. Each measuring device has a specific position relative to the track in order to detect geometric track parameters. One outer measuring device includes a camera with a recording area in which a measuring object of the other outer measuring device and a measuring object of the central measuring device are disposed. The camera is connected to an evaluation device for pattern recognition. All of the position parameters of the track required for precise lining and levelling of the track are thus recorded by a single camera. A method of operating the system is also provided.

Abstract: A method for maintenance of a permanent way, roadway or travel path for rail vehicles includes determining the actual condition of the permanent way by using a measuring system to record measurement data. Objects along the permanent way are detected from the measurement data by using an evaluation device. A detected object is assigned to an object class, and at least one object class identification linked with positional data is stored in a database for a detected object. The actual condition of the permanent way is thus stored in an object-based manner, and a comparison with a target condition or with historic actual conditions is used for the planning and execution of maintenance measures. A maintenance system for executing the method is also provided.

Abstract: A method of determining the actual position of a track relative to a fixed point located in a lateral vicinity of the track by using a registering device being mobile on the track includes surveying the position of the fixed point relative to the track. The registering device is moved along the track, image pairs of the lateral vicinity of the track are continuously recorded by a stereo camera system on the registering device and the fixed point is searched for in the image pairs by pattern recognition carried out in an evaluation device. Upon recognition of the fixed point, the position of the fixed point relative to the track is determined by evaluating at least one image pair. This creates the possibility of surveying fixed points in passing with the configuration of the fixed point not being bound to any special form. A measuring system is also provided.

Abstract: The invention relates to a machine (1) having a machine frame (2), mobile by means of on-track undercarriages (3) on rails (4) of a track grid (5), and a stabilizing unit (8) which comprises a vibration exciter (15) for generating horizontal vibrations extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the machine and flanged rollers (10) designed to roll on the rails (4). In this, a camera (11) is mounted on the machine frame (2) for recording a section of the track grid (5) set in vibrations, wherein the camera (11) is connected to an evaluation device (16) in order to derive from the recorded image data a resulting deflection (sr) of the track grid (5). In this manner, the amplitude (ar) of the sleeper deflection can be recorded, which is a measure of the actually effective vibration for stabilizing the track.
