  • Patent number: 10774949
Abstract: Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) suppression strakes, in particular VIV suppression strakes are arranged on subsea pipelines. A VIV suppression strake assembly includes a strake fin support shell that is configured to be arranged against the outer surface of a section of pipe and at least one strake fin having a fin tip and a fin base. The strake fin support shell includes an aperture that is configured for inserting the fin therein, and the fin is provided at the fin base with an anchor, which anchor is configured for engaging the fin support shell on the pipe side of the aperture. The aperture is a slot dimensioned to allow the fin to be inserted in the slot from the pipe side of the slot with the fin tip leading until the fin base engages the shell.

  • Patent number: 7458752
Abstract: A suppression element (1) for vortex vibrations, comprising an envelope (2) for t least partly enveloping a tubular element (100); at least one projection (3) pointing away from the envelope. The envelope is modular to form with similar suppression elements a tube (101,102), which, in operation, at least partly, envelops a tubular element (100). Also, a construction kit for a suppression system and a suppression system for vortex vibrations with at least two suppression element (1), which together form a tube, which in operation, at least partly envelops a tubular element (100), as well as an apparatus for extracting minerals with a pipeline enveloped by a suppression system are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7210531
Abstract: A protective element for a riser segment, including an elongated buffer body, at least one foot connected with the buffer body, the at least one foot being provided with an engagement part arranged to engage on a main pipe of a riser segment, the distance between the engagement part of the foot and the buffer body being such that in a mounted condition the part of the buffer body located farthest from the main pipe is located farther from the main pipe than auxiliary pipe elements arranged on the main pipe.
