  • Patent number: 7433368
Abstract: For transmitting data in a communication network between a signaling entity and a peer signaling entity through a transport layer, such as TCP, a signaling transport converter STC on TCP is disclosed. The STC on TCP provides a signaling transport service for a connection between the signaling entity and the transport layer and comprises an interface to the signaling entity and an interface to the transport layer. The STC on TCP processes data to be exchanged between the signaling entity and the transport layer for a transparent transfer of the data to the peer signaling entity by means of the TCP transport layer. For providing a transaction-oriented data transport service, the STC on TCP may include a Message Wrapper which delineates a TCP based message stream and encapsulates/decapsulates the data to be exchanged.

  • Publication number: 20070104190
Abstract: A device for user datagram protocol packet processing on network elements in a network, a radio access network comprising such a device and a method for user datagram protocol packet processing on network elements in a network, wherein a predetermined limited range of user datagram protocol port numbers is provided. It is determined, when a user datagram protocol packet arrives, whether a user datagram protocol port number associated with the user datagram protocol packet falls within the limited range of a user datagram protocol port numbers, and a mapping table is searched, if the associated user datagram protocol port number falls within the limited range of user datagram protocol port numbers, or the user datagram protocol packet is discarded or forwarded to an internet protocol means for further processing, if the associated user datagram protocol port number does not fall within the limited range of user datagram protocol numbers.
