  • Publication number: 20240070565
Abstract: The present invention is directed to interactive training, and in particular, to methods and systems for computerized interactive skill training. An example embodiment provides a method and system for providing skill training using a computerized system. The computerized system receives a selection of a first training subject. Several related training components can be invoked, such as reading, watching, performing, and/or reviewing components. In addition, a scored challenge session is provided, wherein a training challenge is provided to a user via a terminal, optionally in video form.

  • Patent number: 4988163
Abstract: A low energy laser system for surgical purposes, in particular, ophthalmic surgery, comprises a source of pulsed laser energy. Er:YAG lasers having a wavelength of 3 microns are preferred. Optical fibers which are responsive to the laser energy deliver amounts of the laser energy to selected body tissue sufficient to perform delicate surgical procedures without adverse biological or chemical interaction with the tissue. In particular, a compound fiber assembly is preferred for delivery of laser energy having a wavelength above 2 microns which compound fiber comprises an elongated fiber body comprised of fluoride based glass, a surgical optical fiber tip of a hard, moderately transparent mineral, such as quartz or sapphire, and an element for coupling the optical fiber tip to the fluoride glass body.

  • Patent number: 4413342
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing coincident orthogonally-polarized laser beams having twice the frequency of a fundamental frequency emitted by a laser source is disclosed. A second harmonic generator within a laser resonator cavity causes frequency-doubled laser beams to travel in opposite directions along an axis thereon. One of the beams undergoes a polarization change of substantially 90.degree. and is returned for travel along the laser axis in the same direction as a second frequency-doubled beam which has not undergone a polarization change. The orthogonally-polarized beams are then emitted through an output mirror designed for transmitting beams of twice the frequency of the fundamental beam.
