Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and device for identification of correlations between alarm messages in an alarm system of a technical installation or a technical process and/or correlations between such alarm messages and operator actions, using a data processing device which has access to recorded historical data which relates to alarm messages and operator actions. The data processing device can use market basket analysis methods to deal with and analyze historical data, which occurs at defined intervals, as a market basket. Quality characteristics can be formed from a relationship between respective operator actions before and after an occurrence of a respective alarm message, and/or from correlations between alarm messages and operator actions, via the data processing device, which has access to the recorded historical data which relates to alarm messages and operator actions.

Abstract: An alarm analysis system for providing statistics on alarms collected by a process control system including an alarm server receiving and storing alarms from one or more processes supervised by the control system. The alarm analysis system is run on the alarm server and the alarm analysis system is adapted to automatically produce and display the statistics in real time based on the alarms stored in the alarm server.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and device suitable in which historical process measurement values are evaluated and used for the generation of alarm suppression rules. In connection with predetermined requirements, alarm configuration parameters are tested, evaluated and optimized. The historical process measurement values are further used to identify predictive alarms. Results obtained in generating the alarm suppression rules and/or evaluating the alarm configuration parameters are utilized for the configuration of optimized alarm configuration parameters and alarm suppression rules in control systems.

Abstract: A display system is disclosed for graphic representation of alarm reports from measured values of a technical plant or technical process, with a processing device, wherein the measurement points of the measured values each have a hierarchically structured identifier, and the hierarchically structured identifier of the relevant measurement points is held in the processing device. The processing device decomposes the hierarchically structured identifiers of the measurement points into hierarchical levels of different significance, selects the identifiers of the hierarchical levels of the measurement points with the highest significance, and transmits them to a preconfigured mass alarm display unit. The identifiers of the hierarchical levels with the highest significance can be assigned to a correspondingly identified area within an overview image of the plant or process of the preconfigured mass alarm display unit.
