Abstract: A device for supplying a shielding gas to a welding torch, the device including a cylinder 1 for holding the shielding gas, a valve operatively connected to the cylinder for selectively permitting flow of gas from the cylinder, a regulator for controlling the pressure of the gas flow from the cylinder, and a guard assembly 2 coupled to the cylinder 1 and adapted to protect the valve and regulator from external forces, wherein a flow meter 4 incorporated into the guard assembly 2, the flow meter being adapted to receive the nozzle 5 of a welding torch and measure the flow rate of the gas therein.

Abstract: A holder for a cylindrical article such as a gas cylinder has a base, a support member extending from the base for receiving a base of the article, and, spaced from the support member, at least one clamp device, including first and second jaw elements, extending from the base and arranged releasably to clamp the cylindrical article. The clamp device may also include springs for urging the jaw elements into an article holding position. The springs may act on bearing elements for the jaw elements.

The gateway apparatus (1) is also configured to be operable such that when it provides a gateway function to appropriate direct mode operating terminals, such as a TET.RA terminal (2), it can also allow a user (9) of the gateway apparatus 1 to participate in a call, etc., that is proceeding via the gateway apparatus (1). A TETRA direct mode repeater apparatus can similarly be configured to allow a user of the repeater apparatus to participate in a call, etc., that is proceeding via the repeater apparatus.
