  • Publication number: 20230159287
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for baggage or parcel handling. The system includes an automated bag unloading cell, a container roller deck positioned in the automated unloading cell. The container roller deck includes a roller deck base and a deck frame. The deck frame can selectively support and transfer a container housing a bag or parcel. The deck frame can selectively rotate about a deck frame axis of rotation relative to the roller deck base. The deck frame is operable to selectively release the bag or parcel from the container. The container roller deck can also include an index table in communication with the deck frame. The index table can be operable to receive the bag or parcel released from the container. The index table can include at least one index table conveyor operable to selectively advance the bag or parcel from the index table to a first transfer device.

  • Publication number: 20210283780
Abstract: End effectors for robots are disclosed for autonomous engagement and transfer of luggage from a transport device to a container. The end effectors includes an engaging end effector that utilizes a vacuum force to engage and remove a bag from the transport device and a conveyor end effector that includes a conveyor for conveying bags into the container. A control system instructs and/or controls the end effectors.

  • Patent number: 9410895
Abstract: A method of sequentially performing a plurality of jointing operations includes positioning an automated device to form a mechanical joint into a workpiece and forming a mechanical joint into the workpiece. Once the mechanical joint is formed, the workpiece is scanned to generate data indicating the surface geometry of the workpiece at a location including the mechanical joint. One or more geometric features of the surface geometry are identified, and if the identified geometric features are within respective predetermined specification thresholds, the automated device is repositioned to form a subsequent mechanical joint into the workpiece.
