  • Patent number: 11269081
Abstract: A method for determining the absolute position of a motor vehicle in a global coordinate system, includes capturing a first position with a satellite-based navigation system and calculating a second position with at least one inertial sensor and integrating the measured values thereof. The absolute position of the motor vehicle is determined on the basis of the first position and the second position with the aid of a fusion filter. Provision is made for an error in the currently determined second position to be determined on the basis of a comparison of the first position captured last with an associated second position and to be taken into account when determining the current second position.

Date of Patent: March 8, 2022

  • Patent number: 9665524
Abstract: A method for coupling a first sensor to at least one second sensor is provided, the method including a step of transmitting a first signal from the first sensor to the at least one second sensor. Furthermore, the method includes a step of providing a second signal by way of the second sensor. The second signal is provided in response to the first signal, the second signal representing a measured value of the second sensor. Furthermore, the method includes a step of outputting a third signal for a control unit by way of the first sensor. The outputting of the third signal is carried out in response to the second signal, the third signal representing at least one measured value of the first sensor.

  • Patent number: 7240293
Abstract: A method is proposed for the input of a character string into a processing unit, in which in a two-dimensional character field, a character to be input is determined from selectable characters for an input. In this context, the intuitive detection of a user input permits a simple navigation with the aid of a direction-input device in the thinned-out, two-dimensional character field between the selectable characters.

  • Patent number: 6873906
Abstract: A method of inputting a navigation destination into a navigation device, where a place name of the navigation destination is entered, where in the event that there are, in a navigation database, a plurality of navigation destinations having the same place name, supplemental information is output for the plurality of navigation destinations, allowing differentiation of the navigation destinations in each case. With this method, the supplemental information includes information about the direction and/or distance from a nearby or nearest prominent point. A navigation database for performing the method, in which position coordinates, in particular central point position coordinates, are stored for each stored navigation destination and for each of the prominent points which may be output as part of the supplemental information. This facilitates resolution of ambiguity when entering navigation destinations which is improved for the user, because it may be more easily understood.

  • Patent number: 6675147
Abstract: A method for input of a sequence of letters and/or numbers in a driver information system provides for input of individual symbols of the sequence of letters and/or numbers either by input of speech information or pressing a key. Especially it is possible to switch between input by means of the key or speech during input of a single sequence.
