  • Patent number: 10717325
Abstract: A drive line arrangement for self-propelled agricultural product applicator includes an engine connected to a remotely mounted pump arrangement by a driveshaft that passes through an axle of a frame of the applicator. The axle includes an axle tube extending transversely across the frame and defining front and rear facing surfaces of the axle tube, and a tubular-shaped tunnel fixedly attached to and extending through the axle from the front to the rear facing surfaces of the axle tube, and defining an internal opening of the tunnel for passage of the driveshaft through the tunnel. The tunnel extends beyond at least one of the front and rear facing surfaces of the axle tube to structurally reinforce the axle tube around the opening in the tunnel.

  • Patent number: 10590985
Abstract: A steering cylinder mount system with a bearing race frictional lock assembly for an agricultural machine is provided that frictionally secures a bearing's inner race with respect to another component in a manner that ensures the bearing's inner and outer races rotate with respect to each other in preference to rotating the inner race with respect to an internally arranged supporting component. The bearing race friction lock assembly may frictionally engage multiple surfaces of the spherical bearing's inner race to lock the inner race with respect to its inwardly arranged supporting component(s).

  • Patent number: 10428974
Abstract: A routing and securing system with adjacent components is provided to route and secure hoses, lines, and harnesses of vehicles in a manner that is repeatable and straightforward and can be documented. The routing and securing system uses a base block provided in a first plane and a retainer, or wrap, provided in a second plane. The base block provides concave receptacles, or slots, for seating elongate routed components in the first plane, while the retainer overlaps the elongate routed components in the second plane to secure the elongate routed components to their respective concave receptacles. A mounting bracket may be used to mount the routing and securing system to the vehicle, and may also be used to join a pair of routing and securing systems together.

  • Patent number: 10244676
Abstract: A self-propelled agricultural product application implement such as high clearance sprayer and/or spreader is provided that includes a product container that is sectioned. Emptying of the container sections is controlled to approximate a target front-to-back weight distribution of the implement for a substantially long period of time during a product application session. An outlet system having multiple variable outlet arrangements is arranged between the product container and an application arrangement such as a spray boom or a rotary broadcaster. The variable outlet arrangements are configured to allow the container sections to sequentially empty to maintain ballast provided by the store product at relatively later portions of the implement for a relatively longer period of time during the product application session.

  • Patent number: 10060458
Abstract: A fastening system for an agricultural system includes a first mounting plate coupled to a first component and a second mounting plate coupled to a second component. The second mounting plate aligns with the first mounting plate. The fastening system also includes a coupling assembly coupled to the first mounting plate by a retaining fastener. The coupling assembly comprises two clamping plates which move from a first position that facilitates alignment of the first and second mounting plates to a second position that at least partially sandwiches the first and second mounting plates between the two clamping plates. The retaining fastener extends through the two clamping plates. An alignment fastener also extends through the two clamping plates and is selectively tightened while the coupling assembly is in the second position to drive the two clamping plates to couple the first and second mounting plates to one another.

  • Patent number: 6053419
Abstract: A self-centering boom for self-propelled agricultural sprayers having a double-acting hydraulic cylinder and a magnetically actuated electrical position sensor and control for sensing and moving the boom to a centered position. The electro-hydraulic control circuit senses boom position when the boom is at or near a centered position with respect to the sprayer and automatically centers the boom when the sprayer drive train is out of a neutral condition. The hydraulic system includes a pair of pressure relief valves to allow the boom to deflect due to inertial forces when turning or when contact is made with an obstruction, with the control system returning the boom to a centered position after turning or when the boom is clear of the obstruction. A flow restricting orifice cooperates with the pressure relief valves to automatically adjust the pressure at the inlet of the relief valve to retard rapid boom movement, while not interfering with slow boom movement.
