  • Publication number: 20080231239
Abstract: A generator set is provided with both a pin-on mount mechanism and a clamp-on mount mechanism for mounting the generator set to a container. Both the pin-on mount mechanism and the clamp-on mount mechanism are selectively positionable in either a deployed for use position or a stowed position. When the clamp-on mount mechanism is in the deployed for use position, the pin-on mount mechanism is positioned in a stowed position. When the pin-on mount mechanism is in the deployed for use position, the clamp-on mount mechanism is positioned in the stowed position.

  • Patent number: 5947710
Abstract: Lubrication deficiencies related to the use of lubricants in HFC refrigeration compressors can be mitigated by providing a diamond-like-carbon coating on a member subject to wear due to lubrication deficiencies. Specifically, the tip of the vane of a rotary compressor is coated with a diamond-like-carbon coating made up of alternating layers of tungsten carbide and a lubricious material 0.5 to 5.0 microns thick.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 16, 1997
Date of Patent: September 7, 1999
    Assignee: Carrier Corporation
Inventors: Clark V. Cooper, Paul J. Bushnell, Martin M. Mertell
  • Patent number: 5672054
Abstract: Lubrication deficiencies related to the use of synthetic lubricants such as POE oils in refrigeration compressors can be mitigated by providing a diamond-like-carbon coating on a member subject to wear due to lubrication deficiencies. Specifically, the tip of the vane of a rotary compressor is coated with a diamond-like-carbon coating made up of alternating layers of tungsten carbide and a lubricious material 0.5 to 5.0 microns thick.

  • Patent number: 5564917
Abstract: In a high side rotary compressor, interior shell pressure is used to force lubricant from the sump into the compression chamber. The lubricant is delivered only after the suction port has closed and before chamber pressure exceeds shell pressure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 5, 1995
Date of Patent: October 15, 1996

  • Patent number: 5221191
Abstract: In a horizontal rotary compressor the gas path from the muffler is between the rotor and stator whereupon the flow direction is changed 180.degree. and the flow takes place between the stator and the upper shell. Oil drainage to the sump is in a flow path between the stator and the lower shell. The gas and oil paths serve to cool the rotor and the stator windings. Also, the gas flow reduces oil circulation from the compressor.
