    Abstract: Biocompatible materials suitable for use in vascular applications have been engineered, combining human recombinant tropoelastin with other synthetic or natural biomaterials to form protoelastin. The materials can be in the form of elastin films on metal, bone, ceramic or polymer substrates, laminates of alternating polymer and elastin, blends of polymer and elastin, or elastin crosslinked with or tethered to polymer. The flexibility in engineering and design makes protoelastin biomaterials suited not only to the production of conduits but any number of other vascular applications that require blood contacting surfaces. Tropoelastin and the subsequently engineered biomaterial protoelastin provide the opportunity to satisfy a large unmet need for a biocompatible material adaptable enough to meet a range of diverse vascular uses. These are mechanically stable, elastic, strong and biocompatible (i.e., not thrombogenic and promoting adhesion of cells, especially human endothelial cells.

    Abstract: An endoluminal delivery system is provided having an endoluminal prosthesis sized to fit through a body lumen in a first unexpanded state, where a second state is an expanded relative to the first state. At least one delivery capsule is incorporated to the outer wall of the endoluminal prosthesis, where each one of the delivery capsules has a predetermined delivery pressure. There is at least one reactant in the delivery capsule, where the endoluminal prosthesis is expanded from the first state to the second state to expand the endoluminal prosthesis against the body lumen and induce the predetermined delivery pressure to the delivery capsule, and deliver the reactants to the body lumen according to desired positioning and timing. At least one containment band incorporated to the outer wall of the endoluminal prosthesis and positioned near the delivery capsules to localize the reactants.

    Abstract: A miniature electric motor has an earth strap 56 connecting one terminal 42 to a steel end plate 28. An insulating holder 40 is fixed to the end plate 28 by posts 52. The terminal 42 is supported by the holder 40 by being pressed into a passageway 48 in a boss 50 of the holder. The passageway 48 has a longitudinal groove 68 for receiving an end of the earth strap 56 which makes resilient contact with the terminal 42. The other end of the earth strap 56 is resiliently deformed between the holder 40 and the end plate 28 to establish an electrical connection between the terminal and the end plate. The end plate is in electrical contact with the casing of the motor by crimping the end of the casing over the edge of the end plate to close the casing.
