  • Publication number: 20150103529
Abstract: Methods and materials capable of controlling the type and relative amounts of reflectance (e.g., specular vs. diffusive reflection) in reflective coatings, especially for inclusion in a lighting fixture or other lighting source. A method of forming a reflective coating on a substrate includes applying to the substrate a precursor material that comprises a cross-linkable binder resin, a cross-linking agent, and scattering pigment particles. The pigment particles are predominantly at or near an outer surface of the applied precursor material. Thereafter, the applied precursor material undergoes a single or multistep cure to form the reflective coating by cross-linking the binder resin. The cure energy level and duration inhibit migration of the pigment particles and/or the binder resin in the applied precursor material so that the pigment particles remain predominantly at or near an outer surface of the reflective coating.

  • Patent number: 8520143
Abstract: There is provided a method of measuring delay variation between first and second elementary streams in a digital audiovisual data stream, comprising detecting and storing digital audiovisual data stream timestamp values, detecting and storing elementary stream timestamp values for the first and second elementary streams, interpolating the digital audiovisual data stream timestamp values and elementary stream timestamp values to form data sets having mutual sampling points, and subtracting the interpolated data set for the first elementary data stream from the interpolated data set for the second elementary data stream to form elementary stream difference values indicative of changes in delay over time between first and second elementary streams.

  • Patent number: 7389447
Abstract: A user interface for an event monitor that monitors a data stream receives an event message having at least one level of categorization, adds the event message to a log file, produces an alert status corresponding to a value of a component of the at least one level of categorization, selects the component of the at least one level of categorization, creates a filter according to filter criteria corresponding to the selected component of the at least one level of categorization, filters the log file to produce a filtered log file, and outputs the filtered log file containing event messages corresponding to the selected component of the at least one level of categorization.

  • Patent number: 6806432
Abstract: A method of heat treating a coil (14) for use as a superconducting coil. The coil (14) is heated in a furnace, the temperature of the furnace being controlled to perform a predetermined heating cycle. A current is passed through the coil (14) for at least a portion of the heating cycle so as to further heat the coil by resistance heating.

  • Patent number: 6239405
Abstract: Two parts are coaxially aligned at opposing face ends. The parts are temporarily compressed together at the face ends during welding thereof to control size of the resulting weld joint. Temporary compression may be effected by applying a compression force through the parts to abut together the face ends, and then limiting plastic displacement of the parts at the weld joint during welding. The displacement control limits radial expansion at the weld joint in a preferred embodiment.

  • Patent number: 4116579
Abstract: An end mill tool holder body and a tool suitable for use in a boring mill or any other metal-cutting machine. The tool has a round body with shank to suit the machine tool and a flat, laterally-disposed surface at one end of the body terminating in a shoulder. An axial bore extends through the body and a draw bar in the bore has a pin which extends through an opening in a cutting insert and a nut on the other end of the draw bar clamps the cutting insert against the shoulder, holding it rigidly in position for milling or boring. The inserts are of the throw-away type and are made of precision dimension so that the body and cutting insert can be used in a computerized operation.
