  • Patent number: 5424047
Abstract: A sterilization container for an arrangement for sterilizing medical instruments, implants and the like with steam is disclosed. The arrangement has a steam generator fed by a dispensing pump and has a control device for the sterilizing process. The sterilization container is arranged in such a way that it can be pushed into a holding device in a working connection with the steam generator. The walls of the sterilization container, which is closed on all sides during the sterilizing process so as to be tight against pressure, are formed at least in part by portions of the holding device.

  • Patent number: 4696645
Abstract: Apparatus for removing plaque and/or stains from the surfaces of teeth has an elongated handle which contains a removable cartridge for a supply of flowable solid material and whose nozzle defines a mixing chamber receiving solid material from the cartridge and further receiving compressed air from an adapter which is also connectable to a dentist's drill. The adapter further supplies a stream of water which is discharged by the nozzle through a first orifice. A second orifice of the nozzle communicates with and receives from the mixing chamber a mixture of compressed air and solid material.

  • Patent number: 4180812
Abstract: A dental treatment apparatus having a plurality of dental instruments releasably retained in an instrument-holding device. A control and display arrangement controls the operation of an instrument upon extraction from the holding device, and displays the magnitude of an operating parameter of the instrument on a display device. A control data store is arranged to store pre-determined fixed control data values for the operating parameters of the instruments. To enable the user to alter the predetermined fixed values, a forward-backward counter is connected to the data store which can also store the altered values. A data converter is connected to the counter and to the display device for converting the instantaneous value stored in the data store to a corresponding service datum instantaneous value to be displayed by the display device.

  • Patent number: 4151647
Abstract: A dental unit having pressure-medium operated handpieces, a holder for each handpiece, a control unit operable to control the supply of pressure medium to each handpiece, and switch means associated with each holder and with said control unit, each switch means being operable upon removal of the respective handpiece from its holder to initiate operation of the control unit for the supply of pressure medium to the handpiece.

  • Patent number: 4114946
Abstract: A medical treatment chair e.g. a dental chair, having switch housings releasably mounted on the back portion of the chair, and manually operated switches provided on the switch housings for electrically controlling the operation of parts of or associated with the chair e.g. movable parts of the chair or medical equipment to be used on a patient on the chair. A connecting cable is connected at one end to each switch housing and has a plug connector at its other end which engages a respective socket provided in the interior of the back portion. When the plug connector is in engagement with the socket, the cable prevents inadvertent removal of the switch housing from the back portion. To permit ready engagement and disengagement of each plug connector and socket, an access opening (normally closed) is provided in the back portion to enable manual manipulation of the plug connector and socket within the back portion.

  • Patent number: 4035920
Abstract: A dental teaching device has a dummy head displaceably mounted, within predetermined ranges of movement, on a holder so that the head can be adjusted to any desired position for a practice dental treatment. The holder has a curved socket in which a curved rear portion of the head is slidably received. The curved socket is shielded from exposure to contaminant material by the dummy head thereabove, for all positions of adjustment of the head relative to the holder. An opening in the curved rear portion of the head is defined by a rim which constitutes a limit stop engageable with a stop element secured to the holder and extending into the interior of the head through the opening.
