  • Publication number: 20080140261
Abstract: The invention provides a method for mixing two or more gaseous or liquid streams, where the gaseous streams are combined in an inlet chamber and thereafter repeatedly accelerated and decelerated in one or more of stages, and a value of a maximum linear velocity of the accelerated combined gaseous stream is maintained in each step within a range of mass flow rates of the gaseous streams. The invention also provides apparatus for mixing two or more gaseous or liquid streams, one embodiment comprises a body with a seat; a spindle with a plug, which is installed in the seat and the seat and the plug have a plurality of conical surfaces forming the same plurality of conical annuli. The spindle is able to move the plug in an axial direction in the seat during the mixing. Another embodiment comprises a body, a spindle with a tube plug. A cage and annular mixing elements surround the tube plug.

  • Patent number: 6364978
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for producing a thermoplastic filter material laid in folds, with the folds fixed in close vicinity. The thermoplastic filter material which has been heated for forming the folds is accumulated within a cooling path such that the folds are pushed together and fixed by cooling with respect to their shape.

  • Patent number: 5736041
Abstract: A filter element for use in a filter holder having a sealing surface and method of making a filter. The filter being made of a folded material of manufacture having a circumferential sealing rim and having a spacer to keep open the folded areas. The spaced being formed by at least one cover layer folded with the filter. The sealing rim being formed to be received in the sealing surface and with the folds formed by at least one cover layer and the filter material both along and transverse to the folds around the circumference of the at least one cover layer and filter material being pressed into said sealing rim at a temperature above the softening temperature of at least a thermoplastic resin provided in at least one of the layers of the cover and filter material.

  • Patent number: 4974586
Abstract: A breathing mask is provided which comprises an exhaling valve disposed in an opening of the breathing mask wall. The exhaling valve includes a thin diaphragm which is adapted to be moved by the breathing pressure during inhaling and exhaling either towards or away from a sealing seat. To provide a less expensive breathing mask whose exhaling valve safely closes in particular in dust-particle-containing air and which nevertheless involves low opening and closing pressures, the diaphragm is provided with an arch. Air is allowed to escape over only a part of the circumference of the diaphragm, while the remaining part of the diaphragm circumference is so connected to a base member that the arching direction of the arch is at least partly reversible by the breathing pressure.
