  • Publication number: 20040020920
Abstract: A microwave device includes a cooking space disposed in a housing, at least one microwave source, and at least one further radiation source, as an alternative to the microwave source, which is protected from microwaves from the microwave source by a shielding grid. At least one grid wall of the shielding grid has a radiation reflector by which it is possible for rays from the alternative radiation source to be reflected into the cooking space.

  • Publication number: 20030218408
Abstract: A lightwave oven for heating food in a cooking chamber includes an oven housing, a drawer that can be moved out and in through an opening in the oven housing and has a bottom plate, side walls, and a rear wall that bound the cooking chamber, and a front plate to close the opening in the oven housing. A top plate is disposed above the drawer. The top plate can be moved relative to the drawer in the oven housing, rests on the drawer when in an operating position, and, as a result, bounds the cooking chamber of the drawer from above. Such a lightwave oven is configured to simplify and make easier the cleaning of the cooking chamber, and can be constructed cost-effectively and, furthermore, can be used flexibly.

  • Publication number: 20030178418
Abstract: A microwave device includes a cooking space disposed in a housing, at least one microwave source, and at least one further radiation source, as an alternative to the microwave source, which may be protected from microwaves by a protective device. The protective device has a control unit by which it is possible to establish a protective state for the alternative radiation source.

  • Publication number: 20030173348
Abstract: A lightwave oven includes a cooking chamber, at least one wall having a translucent region, at least one duct separated from the chamber by the wall, the duct having at least one inlet opening supplying cooling air therein and at least one outlet opening discharging the cooling air, at least one lightwave heating device heating food in the chamber, the heating device having at least one rod-shaped radiant lamp producing lightwaves, the radiant lamp being disposed within the duct and having a longitudinal extent, and at least one reflector surface for reflecting the lightwaves produced by the radiant lamp into the chamber, and the inlet opening and the outlet opening being disposed to direct the cooling air in the duct to flow substantially at right angles to the longitudinal extent of the radiant lamp.

  • Publication number: 20030168440
Abstract: A lightwave oven includes a cooking chamber and at least one lightwave heating device that can be moved to and fro on a travel path between a first position and a second position. To distribute the lightwave energy emitted by the lightwave heating device as uniformly as possible in the entire lightwave oven, the lamp reflector is pivotally disposed in the lightwave oven, which achieves an improvement in the browning of edges of food to be cooked.

  • Publication number: 20030146202
Abstract: A lightwave oven having a cooking chamber and at least one lightwave heating device for heating food in the cooking chamber, and at least one reflector for reflecting the lightwaves produced by the lightwave heating device in the direction of the food and improve thorough cooking and browning of the food. In addition to the radiant lamps of high color temperature, separate radiant lamps of low color temperature are provided to also improve browning of the food. In each case, two radiant lamps of different color temperature can be fixed to a common holder, the holder being held on a movement device such that it can be pivoted, and the radiant lamps radiating light in different directions.

  • Publication number: 20030141290
Abstract: A lightwave oven includes a lightwave heating device having at least one radiant lamp and at least one reflector having a reflective surface whose geometric shape is formed by a generatrix. Improved thorough cooking and browning of food in the oven is achieved by using a common radiant lamp both for browning and for cooking, its reflector having a reflective surface produced from a generatrix having a curve lying between an elliptical and a parabolic curve, whose vertices lie at a common first point and whose focal points lie at a common second point.

  • Patent number: 6158329
Abstract: A cooking appliance has a cooking space for receiving a product to be cooked. The cooking space communicates with a cooling-air feeding device and with a sensor module which is provided for sensing a infrared radiation of a surface area under measurement located in the cooking space. The sensor module is disposed at least partially in an air stream provided by the cooling-air feeding device. Impairment of the measuring quality by the air stream is prevented by an extraction device that is provided for extracting air from the cooking space. The extraction device and the feeding device define an imaginary straight line joining a mouth opening of the cooling-air feeding device on the cooking space side and a mouth opening of the extraction device on the cooking space side being at a distance from the surface area under measurement.

  • Patent number: 4726653
Abstract: A stereoscopic viewer comprises a housing having an advancing plate for supporting and advancing a disc-shaped carrying card for stereo images which are viewed through a pair of eyepieces in the housing. A trigger oscillates the plate to incrementally rotate the card and position sequential pairs of images in the viewing axis of the eyepieces. The trigger includes a depressible actuator vertically projecting through a top surface of the viewer, as it is held for viewing. The trigger comprises a cylindrical actuator portion projecting through the top surface of the housing, and a leg depending from the actuator portion which engages the advancing plate to oscillate it as the trigger is depressed. As the plate oscillates in a forward direction, a flat front face of a pawl on the plate engages a radial slot on the disc to rotate it. The pawl is slightly inclined in the direction of advance of the card to help hold the card flat against the plate during incremental advancement.
