    Abstract: A flashlamp unit consisting of a module having a number of flashlamps carried on a disk shaped support, successive flashlamps are positioned proximate to a reflector as the support is indexed. The flashlamps are arranged radially on the support in such manner that the flashlamp unit has a thickness which is substantially equal to the largest transverse dimension of a flashlamp. The holder for the module includes positioning and indexing means for cooperation with the module.
