  • Publication number: 20100071555
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for filtering process gas created in the ferroalloy smelting process, i.e. carbon monoxide gas, in order to essentially reduce the content of solids in the gas. In the filtering unit (24) gas containing solids is conducted through at least one filtering element (7), inert gas blowing (8) is directed to the filtering element (7) in order to detach the solid material from the surface of the filtering element (7), and in order to remove from the filtering unit (24) the solid material detached from the the surface of the filtering element (7) the solid material is slurried by means of liquid fed (11) into the filtering unit (24). The slurry containing the sold material is removed from the filtering unit (24) through a discharge chamber (12).

  • Patent number: 6698582
Abstract: A conveyor belt for a continuously operated conveyor-type thermal treatment of a material bed includes metal conveyor belt elements that are connected to each other. Each conveyor belt element is formed with perforations in order to allow gas to flow through the conveyor belt. The perforations are distributed non-uniformly over the conveyor belt element and are located in at least two perforation zones. The perforation zones are separated from each other by perforation-free zones.

  • Publication number: 20030054315
Abstract: The invention relates to a conveyor belt to be used in a continuously operated conveyor-type thermal treatment, i.e. sintering, of a material bed. The conveyor belt is provided with perforations in order to allow the gases that are used for heating and possibly cooling the material bed to flow through the material bed and the conveyor belt. According to the invention, the conveyor belt is made of a perforated, at least one-part element made of a metal piece and allowing the gases to flow through said element being mechanically connected to the preceding and successive element in the proceeding direction of the conveyor belt by means of a junction made in the lateral direction of said conveyor belt, and the perforations are arranged in zones alternating with perforation-free element pats.

  • Patent number: 6401908
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for processing lumpy, essentially spherical material such as pellets, so that the lumpy material can be applied on a surface that is set in an essentially continuous motion, as an advantageous layer for the further processing of said material, said apparatus comprising means (1) for conveying the material and for feeding the material onto a surface (15) that is set in an essentially continuous motion. According to the invention, the conveyor (1) is installed movably in an alternating motion between two positions (3, 4) in order to feed the material conveyed by the conveyor (1) as a layer (16) that is advantageous both in thickness and in cross-section onto a surface (15) set in an essentially continuous motion.

  • Patent number: 6253927
Abstract: The invention relates to a roller screen for screening pellets for sintering, the roller screen including several successive rotating rollers that are spaced apart and arranged transversally in relation to the proceeding direction of the material. The roller screen is provided with separate rotation motors for rotating each of the rollers and an adjusting member for adjusting the mutual position of the rollers in order to screen a desired particle size. The screen path of the roller screen is composed of three successive screening parts, which are mutually connected so that the rollers of the screening parts are made to rotate in relation to each other, and the speed of rotation of the roller increases in the proceeding direction of the material towards the final end of the roller screen.
