  • Patent number: 5578978
Abstract: A refrigerator with a freezer section and a passage for the flow of ice through the closed freezer section door is provided with a solenoid-like actuator which is effective for quickly opening a related ice dispenser door upon initiation of the flow of ice, and which is effective for relatively slowly closing the related ice dispenser door to thereby assure that further ice will not pass into the passage after the ice dispenser door is closed.

  • Patent number: 5507255
Abstract: An improved glow plug controller for a diesel engine is disclosed. The glow plug controller has a novel packaging, and means for facilitating rapid and inexpensive assembly. A novel two-chamber tubular housing includes a smaller first chamber having a threaded exterior surface for engagement with a threaded hole in an engine block. This first chamber communicates with a larger second chamber also defined by the housing. A connector bearing conductive connector pins is provided for sealing the open end of the larger chamber. The connector includes a pair of support rails for engaging a piece of circuit board on which glow plug circuitry resides. In assembly, the circuit board is first mounted on the support rails which are subsequently inserted into the larger second chamber when the connector is affixed to the open end of the second chamber. The connector pins are conductively coupled to glow plug circuitry on the circuit board via portions of conductive foil on a surface of the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5397948
Abstract: A magnetic motor is shown having magnetic members situated in relatively close proximity to each other; relative movement between the magnetic members is brought about by bringing the temperature of at least one of the magnetic members to the curie temperature thereof, and subsequent relative movement between the magnetic members is brought about by having the temperatures of all of the magnet members less than the curie temperatures thereof.

  • Patent number: 5089144
Abstract: A fluid filter monitoring system. A flow switch positioned in juxtaposition to a fluid flow path monitors fluid flow and provides an indication during those time periods when fluid is flowing at a rate exceeding a predetermined flow rate through the flow path. A monitoring circuit coupled to this indication provides various audible and/or visible indicators corresponding to detected conditions. The preferred design includes a timer for monitoring the time duration since the filter was installed as well as monitoring the time duration water or other fluids are flowing through the filter. Adjustably settable visible and/or audible indications are provided to indicate when the filter is reaching the end of its useful life as well as when this life period has been exceeded.
