  • Publication number: 20080043770
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for storing messages using multiple communication modalities, in which a first communication is received from a first communication system. One embodiment of a method includes receiving a message in a first protocol and converting the message from the first protocol to the second protocol. Some embodiments include storing the converted message in a temporary mailbox created for storing messages of the second protocol, sending the converted message to a storage component associated with the second protocol, and destroying the temporary mailbox.

  • Publication number: 20070140447
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for accessing messages in one communication system by another communication system. In some embodiments, a request to access data is received from a second communication system. The data is located at a first communication system. The first communication system is configured to communicate using a first standard communication protocol, while the second communication system is configured to communicate using a second standard communication protocol. The received request is converted to a command of the first standard communication protocol. Using the command, the data at the first communication system is accessed.

  • Publication number: 20060062369
Abstract: An intelligent remote caller identification system is provided that typically includes a central office, a service control point, and an internet call routing system. The central office typically triggers a query responsive to receiving a call request. The service control point is coupled to the central office, receives the query, and triggers an internet call routing query. The internet call routing system is coupled to the service control point and typically receives the internet call routing query, determines the presence of the called party with respect to a registered communication device, and sends an internet-based message to the called party at the registered communication device in response to the presence determination. Methods and other systems are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050249339
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed in which notifications of incoming voicemail (VM) messages are provided over an instant messaging (IM) transport. Briefly described, for some embodiments, among others, notifications for VM messages are generated, and the generated notifications are then transmitted to an IM contact address over an IM transport.

  • Publication number: 20050160146
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for integrating standard communication modalities, in which a first communication is received from a first communication system using a first standard communication protocol. That first communication is then converted into a second communication at a messaging server. The second communication is compatible with a second standard communication protocol. The second communication is then transmitted to a second communication system using the second standard communication protocol.

  • Publication number: 20050152527
Abstract: A rule-based intelligent call forwarding system is provided that typically includes a central office, a service control point, and an internet call routing system. The central office typically triggers a query responsive to receiving a call request. The service control point, which is coupled to the central office, receives the query, and triggers an internet call routing query. The internet call routing system, which is coupled to the service control point, typically receives the internet call routing query, determines presence of the called party with respect to a registered communication device, parses rules associated with the called party, and terminates the call request responsive to the rules parsing and presence determination. Methods and other systems are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050153699
Abstract: An intelligent interactive call handling system is provided that typically includes a central office, a service control point, and an internet call routing system. The central office typically triggers a query responsive to receiving a call request. The service control point is coupled to the central office, receives the query, and triggers an internet call routing query. The internet call routing system, which is coupled to the service control point, typically receives the internet call routing query, determines presence of the called party with respect to at least one registered communication device, sends a prompt to the called party at said at least one registered communication device responsive to the presence determination, receives a reply from said at least one registered communication device, and routes the call responsive to the reply. Methods and other systems are also provided.
