  • Patent number: 7329442
Abstract: An elastomeric glove that contains a donning layer containing waterborne polyurethane and a lubricant formed from a silicone emulsion is provided. It has discovered that the application of a waterborne polyurethane donning layer and silicone emulsion lubricant to the inner surface of the glove may provide both damp and dry donnability to the resulting elastomeric glove.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 19, 2002
Date of Patent: February 12, 2008
    Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.
Inventors: Shanti Modha, Mary Elizabeth Kister
  • Patent number: 6936648
Abstract: An aqueous coating formulation containing solids, for enhancing image visualization and retention of acid dye-based inks includes a cationic polymer or copolymer, a fabric softener, urea, and ammonium salts of multifunctional weak acids. Desirably the ammonium salts are selected from the group consisting of ammonium oxalate and ammonium tartrate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 26, 2001
Date of Patent: August 30, 2005
    Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc
Inventors: Alison Salyer Bagwell, Kelly Dean Branham, Mary Elizabeth Kister, Leonard Eugene Zelazoski
  • Patent number: 6875391
Abstract: A textured elastomeric article and a method of making such an article is disclosed. The article includes a substrate body having an inside surface and a plurality of alkaline earth salt particles embedded within at least a portion of the inside surface but not extending through the thickness of the article such that no separate binder material is needed to affix the particles.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 5, 2005
    Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20030226191
Abstract: An elastomeric glove having an outer layer that contains a silicone emulsion is provided. For example, in one embodiment, the glove contains a natural rubber latex substrate body, a donning layer that is capable of being chlorinated, and an outer layer formed from a silicone emulsion. It has been unexpectedly discovered that the application of a silicone emulsion to the outer layer can offset the slipperiness normally caused by chlorination and thus enhance the gripping properties of the resulting elastomeric glove. Specifically, it is believed that the silicone emulsion can inhibit the ability of halogen atoms to bond with the elastomeric material of the substrate, thereby limiting the level of slipperiness usually imparted during chlorination.
