  • Publication number: 20240124934
Abstract: The invention provides DNA compositions that relate to transgenic insect resistant maize plants. Also provided are assays for detecting the presence of the maize DAS-59122-7 event based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct inserted into the maize genome and the DNA sequences flanking the insertion site. Kits and conditions useful in conducting the assays are provided.

  • Publication number: 20240094771
Abstract: A case for an electronic device such as a head-mounted device may have a main housing portion that separates an interior region from a surrounding exterior region. The main housing portion may have an opening through which the head-mounted device is received into the interior region. Flexible protruding portions of the main housing portion may form a flexible tab and a flexible flap. To make size adjustments to the interior region, the flexible tab may slide within an opening in a cover. The cover may be configured to move between an open position in which the opening is uncovered and a closed position in which the head-mounted device is enclosed within the interior region by the main housing portion and the cover. Deformable protrusions in the case may be used to seal openings in the head-mounted device when the device is in the interior region.

  • Publication number: 20240093221
Abstract: This disclosure provides recombinant DNA constructs and transgenic plants having enhanced traits such as increased yield, increased nitrogen use efficiency, and enhanced drought tolerance or water use efficiency. Transgenic plants may include field crops as well as plant propagules and progeny of such transgenic plants. Methods of making and using such transgenic plants are also provided. This disclosure also provides methods of producing seed from such transgenic plants, growing such seed, and selecting progeny plants with enhanced traits. Also disclosed are transgenic plants with altered phenotypes which are useful for screening and selecting transgenic events for the desired enhanced trait.

  • Publication number: 20240084051
Abstract: Disclosed are support-activators and catalyst compositions comprising the support-activators for polymerizing olefins in which the support-activator includes clay heteroadduct, prepare from a colloidal phyllosilicate such as a colloidal smectite clay, which is chemically-modified with a heterocoagulation agent. By limiting the amount of heterocoagulation reagent relative to the colloidal smectite clay as described herein, the smectite heteroadduct support-activator is a porous and amorphous solid which can be readily isolated from the resulting slurry by a conventional filtration process, and which can activate metallocenes and related catalysts toward olefin polymerization. Related compositions and processes are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5605086
Abstract: A compound miter saw comprises a base, an arm rotatingly connected thereto about a horizontal plane, and a pair of adjustable vertical saw supporting members on either end thereof. The improvement thereof comprises a plurality of longitudinally aligned rows of projections formed on the support surface of the base. A workpiece can be supported at an elevated angle along the support surface wherein one side thereof rests against a guide plate along one side of the base and an adjoining corner portion is ensconced between a selected pair of adjacent rows. Each pin of adjacent rows of projections provides a unique elevation angle.

  • Patent number: 5575191
Abstract: A saw equipment includes a working table, a rotary arm unit, a hacksaw, two guide units, two adjusting members, and two locking units. The rotary arm unit includes a rotary arm mounted pivotally on the working table, and two upright positioning plates respectively secured to two end portions of the rotary arm. Each of the positioning plates has a plurality of angularly equidistant engaging holes formed therein. The guide units are capable of holding and guiding the hacksaw. The adjusting members are connected respectively to the guide units. Each adjusting member has a lock block movably contacting a respective one of the positioning plates. Each lock block has an engaging nose projecting therefrom to engage removably and selectively one of the engaging holes of a corresponding one of the positioning plates for adjustment of an inclining angle of the hacksaw relative to a horizontal plane.

  • Patent number: 5392679
Abstract: A saw equipment includes a working table, a rotary arm unit, two adjustment members, a lock unit, a hacksaw, and a guide unit. The rotary arm unit has a rotary arm mounted pivotally on the working table, and two positioning plates respectively secured to two ends of the rotary arm. Each of the positioning plates has several angularly equidistant engaging slots formed therein. Each of the adjusting members includes a lock block and two parallel rods extending upward from the lock block. Each of the lock blocks has several angularly equidistant engaging tongues which engage a first set of the engaging slots of the corresponding positioning plate. The lock unit locks the adjusting members releasably on the rotary arm unit. The guide unit is vertically movable on the adjusting members so as to guide the saw blade to reciprocate on the adjusting members along a straight path.
