  • Patent number: 4996677
Abstract: Sensor are widely used to read magnetic data and to read the magnetic and the optical patterns printed on notes and so on. A multichannel head in accordance with the present invention has plural magnetic cores arranged in a row and a cancellation core for noise removal, the head can detect magnetic characteristics as a whole in a stationary state without depending on the relative speed of the magnetic member with the head, and therefore is least affected by noise. Since one cancellation core is shared by plural magnetic cores, the structure as a whole becomes simple, and the cost of manufacture can be remarkably reduced. Since a magnetic head is combined with optical fibers in an integral structure according to this invention, it can read magnetic patterns and the optical patterns on the same location simultaneously by a parallel operation.

  • Patent number: 4773010
Abstract: In an automotive vehicle equipped with an electrically power-assisted steering system including an electric motor in drive connection to a steering shaft to produce an assist power in accordance with the driver's effort applied to the steering shaft, a signal is produced at each travel of the vehicle in a predetermined distance, and a physical value related to the assist power of the motor is detected in response to the signal. When the number of times of detection of the physical value reaches a predetermined time, a characteristic value of the detected physical values is calculated and compared with a standard value to determine a driving condition of the vehicle on a basis of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 4685528
Abstract: In an electric power steering device, an electric motor is drivingly connected to a steering shaft with a steering wheel for generating an assisting power to rotate the steering shaft. A memory has stored a control pattern which non-linearly varies an assisting power with variations in a steering effort. A microprocessor responsive to a vehicle speed detected by a speed sensor ascertains whether the detected vehicle speed is within a low speed range or within a high speed range. Ascertaining that the detected speed is within the low speed range, the microprocessor searches the memory for an assisting power corresponding to the steering effort detected by a torque sensor. Ascertaining that the detected vehicle speed is within the high speed range, on the other hand, the microprocessor calculates an assisting power based upon the detected steering effort and a constant.
