    Abstract: A film-like closure opener opens a film-like closure such as a cap or lid which closes an open end of a bottomed tubular container such as a blood collecting tube. The film-like closure opener includes a cutter having a circular cutting edge for cutting off at least a substantial portion of the film-like closure along the open end of the tubular container. The opener may have a needle for piercing an elastic member on the film-like closure, so that the cut-off closure can be removed with the needle. The opener also has a gripper which is manually held and pushed to force the cutter into the tubular container while cutting off the film-like closure.

The tubular member of this blood collecting tube can be suitably made by injection molding and has high gas barrier properties so that the capability of collecting blood decreases little with time.

    Abstract: Irradiation-sterilizable medical articles molded from a propylene polymer composition in which stabilizers are incorporated. Said composition comprises from 0.01 to 0.4 part by weight of each of a specific hindered amine and a specific phenol or its phosphite ester compound incorporated per 100 parts by weight of a propylene polymer with a weight-average molecular-weight to number-average molecular-weight ratio of 5 or below. The above-mentioned composition may additionally contain a sorbitol derivative as the nucleating agent. Medical articles produced from said composition by molding, for example, syringes are suitable for irradiation sterilization. Said medical articles when irradiated undergo little reduction in quality of the material and are accompanied by little bleeding or degradation of the incorporated stabilizers and nucleating agent.
