Abstract: A disc driving apparatus is provided with: a turn table on which a disc type record medium is loaded; a clamper opposed to the turn table for clamping the disc type record medium on the turn table by means of a magnetic force applied between the turn table and the clamper; and a spindle motor for rotationally driving the turn table. The clamper has at least 3 abutting portions for abutting to the disc type record medium such that only one of the abutting portions is respectively on a line passing through a center of the clamper in a plain parallel to a record surface of the disc type record medium.

Abstract: An automatic disk changer is disclosed in which a tray transfer mechanism is provided in a case at the central portion of the width thereof so that the mechanism can be moved up and down. A disk player is installed to play a disk optionally transferred by the mechanism. Pairs of right and left tray guides for housing trays are provided in the case at the right and left portions thereof so that the center lines of the guides extend toward the mechanism.

Abstract: An automatic disk changer is disclosed in which tray guides are provided on a large number of levels in a case at right and left portions thereof so that the center line of the guide on each of the levels at the right portion and that of the guide on the level at the left portion extend toward a tray transfer mechanism and meet each other in the form of a V. The tray transfer mechanism can be moved up and down between each of the guides and a disk player for playing a disk in a tray transferred by the tray transfer mechanism, be swung from a central portion to positions corresponding to the guides on each of the levels at the right and left portions, and be moved backward and forward, to and from each of the guides.

Abstract: An automatic disk changer in which a tray guide for storing a disk while it is not being played is provided in a case. A tray for containing the disk is guided by the tray guide. The tray has nearly the same size as the disk to be contained in the tray, and has a window through which a laser beam from a pickup passes and which extends to the peripheral portion of the tray. The disk changer includes a disk player which is also provided with a further tray guide for guiding the tray and is installed so that the disk is pinched and moved up by a turntable unit and a clamper and the tray is thereafter moved in the direction of movement of the pickup.

A first and a second centering member center respectively the two disks and a mechanical actuating rod in a single motion moves the second centering member radially outward into engagement with center hole of the second substrate and presses the first centering member axially out of engagement with the center hole of the first substrate.

Abstract: A disc playing system for playing discs selected from a plurality of stored discs in succession, includes a disc storing part in which a plurality of disc storing slots are provided, a transportation means movable along a direction of arrangement of discs in the disc storing part, for transporting a selected disc from a disc storing slot to a playing position and vice versa, in which the disc storing part is provided is a plurality of guide members for guiding the disc transportation means into each of the disc storing slots, and a swingable member is provided to the transportation means, so that the selected disc is surely picked up from the storing slot and returned thereto. Due to this feature, the spaces between each disc stored in the disc storing part are reduced, and in turn the time required for changing the disc is reduced.

Abstract: An automatic disc loading and exchanging apparatus of a disc reproducing system including a disc drive unit, comprising a disc storage unit for storing a plurality of discs in conjunction with the disc drive means in a manner that the discs are arranged in an array, a disc retainer to have a disc retained in a position to be driven for rotation by the disc drive unit, and a disc transport assembly movable in parallel with the array of the discs independently of the disc retainer and including a disc carrier adapted to carry at least two discs. The disc transport assembly is movable between a first position operative to have a disc transferred between the array of the discs and the disc carrier and a second position operative to have a disc transferred between the disc carrier and the disc retainer. The first position is variable depending upon the disc to be transferred between the array of the discs and the disc carrier, while the second position is fixed with respect to the disc retainer.
